I like my triple berries on my pancakes along w a sunny side up egg that drips into the pancake, a side of hash browns would warm up my day also. 19/Jan/09 2:21 AM |  |
Ooh Glinda, I have frozen mixed red fruits in the freezer...../////i'll do that after dinner, thank you 19/Jan/09 2:22 AM |  |
Oh Mymare a friend and fellow sudokuist sent me pictures of her front yard, it was so peaceful and still looking. I would like to visit snow. 19/Jan/09 2:23 AM |  |
I have found some maple syrup and some golden syrup too 19/Jan/09 2:24 AM |  |
Oh you two are making me drool and my tummy growl. Man just phoned and said they will return after lunch. I may have to break down and go into that room for food. 19/Jan/09 2:27 AM |  |
Have you thought of making one visit a day to 'that' room, Karen. You take a deep breath first thing in the day, go in, while eating breakfast you prepare lunch boxes for yourself and the girl, ready for a picnic, be it on the lounge floor, put down a cloth and she will love it. You could also do second boxes for later in the day. Et voila only one visit a day needed. 19/Jan/09 2:35 AM |  |
 Why am I so hungry 19/Jan/09 2:41 AM |  |
Happy Sunday! The funeral yesterday was more a celebration of life, with funny stories shared by the deceased's son-in-law, daughter and his pastor. A nice way to say goodbye to a good man... 19/Jan/09 2:43 AM |  |
Perhaps you forgot to eat breakfast, Kathy? 19/Jan/09 2:43 AM |  |
My hope is that someday, everyone is so entranced with the conversation that hey don't care who got 22 - okay, its just cos I don't. sigh! 19/Jan/09 2:43 AM |  |
Now, if anyone's taking breakfast requests, I'd like some of those Denver potato pancakes that they serve at Coco's Son drives back to Uni this afternoon. I made a batch of peanut butter cookies for them to nibble whilst on the road... 19/Jan/09 2:45 AM |  |
Toasted pecans are yummy in pancakes! After not eating anything for two days due to a stomach problem, I'm starving! I think I might make myself some wholewheat cinnamon pecan waffles with maple syrup. 19/Jan/09 2:47 AM |  |
Aileen, I'm so glad it went well. The one I went to on friday had its laughter too. The man in charge of the music forgot to turn it on(a translation problem, I think) so we sang the first hymn unaccompanied - we didn't do too badly, according to the vicar. When we were leaving the guy remembered More... 19/Jan/09 2:50 AM |  |
Jane, how are you today? Was thinking about you after googling your weather the other day. Well past my bed time here but enjoying the idea of belonging to a global community. We live in such a diverse world. Have a good day. 19/Jan/09 2:51 AM |  |
OMG, G'mo, wish I could share your translation problems. You must know we all have puppy dreams of living in France. (See my back legs kick and bounce in anticipation of the inter-racial excitement). 19/Jan/09 2:54 AM |  |

I had one of the best Creme Brulee that I have had for years in a restaurant this last week. We relly must talk of something other than food. 19/Jan/09 2:58 AM |  |
Plum! How could you?I give up! I'm off to fix an early lunch!! 19/Jan/09 2:59 AM |  |
Oh Plum, how can you say all this when some of us don't have a sweet tooth at all. Give me deep fried chicken, camembert cheese, toasted almonds, cashews, and bbq steak. Then tempt me with strawberries, blueberries, mangoes and apricots. 19/Jan/09 2:59 AM |  |
Okay! Creme Brulee will go down alright. 19/Jan/09 3:00 AM |  |
elsie - I'm fine! I don't think it got as cold as predicted the other night because all our plants survived unscathed. Things are warming up again, and I'll probably be taking my usual bike ride this afternoon. 19/Jan/09 3:01 AM |  |
At present my tomatoes and zucchini's are all in season and prolific. Any good recipies out there to rid myself of the excess? 19/Jan/09 3:01 AM |  |
Save the creme brulee for me!!! 19/Jan/09 3:02 AM |  |
elsie - I have a wonderful tomato salad recipe that I'll be happy to post on the Recipes page later today. As the the zucchini, here's my favorite recipe: 1. Select as many zucchini as are available.2. Place them in a plain brown paper bag3. Set them in front of a neighbor's front door.4. Run like hell. 19/Jan/09 3:04 AM |  |
Jane, The depths of winter always test our mettle. 19/Jan/09 3:06 AM |  |
GannieMo I suck it up daily and go into that room--I have just returned from there. I left 30 minutes ago to find something to fill my tummy. During that time, I made my bed, moved the girls toys to the toy room, moved her cottage to the bed room, found more clothes that needed washing and fed the More... 19/Jan/09 3:08 AM |  |
Aileen happy funerals are a favorite of mine. It is the way I like to remember the person who went away. 19/Jan/09 3:09 AM |  |
Here is a shocker, folks, I have a wonderful recipe for zucchini that I just love. 19/Jan/09 3:10 AM |  |
Oh Jane! lolThat actually happened to me! To this day, I have no idea who left them! I had my suspicions, but no one would 'fess up! 19/Jan/09 3:12 AM |  |
We have a recipe page, Karen! Post it! 19/Jan/09 3:14 AM |  |
elsie - I posted the tomato salad recipe on the Recipes page. Hope you enjoy it. 19/Jan/09 3:15 AM |  |
I am hunting for the page. Jane could I be your nieghbor, I did not get my quota of squashes this summer. 19/Jan/09 3:16 AM |  |
 Kathy - well you can't blame me. I live too far away! 19/Jan/09 3:16 AM |  |
elsie - that was just my Sweets list. I'd torture myself if I tried to list all the other foods I like. Everything you mentioned would be on it if you substituted brie for camembert and bbq ribs and grilled steak with A1 sauce instead of the bbq steak. I have a fav salad of spring greens, More... 19/Jan/09 3:17 AM |  |
Plum - I think in Australia, "bbq steak" translates to "grilled steak". Is that right, Aussies? 19/Jan/09 3:19 AM |  |
I have a rice zucchini casserole recipe, but it's made with condensed cream of mushroom soup. Does that exist outside of the U.S.? 19/Jan/09 3:20 AM |  |
Karen - actually we don't have a garden here. We did when we lived in Virginia and Pennsylvania. Now I just buy my veggies at the local produce stand. And I do like zucchini. It's just that when you grow it, it gets totally out of control! 19/Jan/09 3:21 AM |  |
If cream of mushroom soup isn't available, you can make a white sauce and add freshly sauteed mushrooms. 19/Jan/09 3:23 AM |  |
Gosh, for someone suffering from tummy problems for the past two days, I've certainly built up an appetite! Didn't think I'd want to eat for a week! 19/Jan/09 3:25 AM |  |
