Good Maen all...beautiful fall morning here. I've been raking leaves for 2 days straight and it doesn't look like I've done a thing! It's like shoveling snow while it's still snowing.

G'day mates. Here's today's daffynition:
RETIREMENT:
1. Twice as much husband, half as much money.
2. When you stop living at work and start working at life.

My leaves are doing the same, Vici, but hubby rakes most of ours!
(Am baby-ing a thumb... don't want another surgery.)

Maen, all!
Getting ready for more snow this week.
Great weather last night for Halloween!

At least hubby doesn't have to rake up after our Bradford Pear tree. It was a strange tree. It had a 25-inch diameter trunk and had about 8-10 main 40 foot tall branches that branched from near the ground more like trunks, so you can imagine how many leaves would fall. Oh!... and the leaves would fall almost two months after the rest of our trees.

Shiela - that would be frustrating, for sure. The Liquid Ambers on my lawn still have green leaves - I'm afraid I'll have the same situation with their leaves.
Jim - we won't be getting snow quite yet (I think)...but we have had several Halloweens with snow. Glad yours held off a bit for the trick-or-treaters.

Is everyone full of chocolate???
(We babysat for grandsons last night. They were very generous at sharing their Halloween candy!)

I was wondering the same thing, Shiela...everyone is suffering from sugar hangovers!

13? Good evening one and all!

HI all! Yes, indeed, sugar hangovers here too! At least everyone gets a day off today to recuperate!

I was feeling vague in insubstantial, but this morning, I feel much more like myself again. I might even get lucky.

I am so glad we don't give out candy at Halloween. We only had 3 trick-or-treaters this year, so we would have had a lot of leftovers - which we don't need!!!

Don't be so sure of that, Keith.

Yes!

Sorry, Keith. I couldn't help myself.

At first glance, that's all pretty complicated, Fiona.

Good morning. We spent the weekend with our grandchildren so we could join in the Halloween festivities. We attended their school carnival Sunday and school assembly yesterday, where we were entertained by a costume parade and singing performances by the Kindergartners. Today we head for home. We've had fun - but are tired!!!

Jane, you had three more kids than we had last night--shut the lights off at eight o'clock. Next year, no chocolate bars for us. The neighbourhood was eerily quiet. (Can't say that I mind ...)

Jane... you had three more kids than we had, too. (Tho' we did have 2 mexicans show up wanting to buy some goats to eat.)

I have had no trick or treaters since moving in to our Lake home 10 years ago. I didn't even buy any candy this year. I had to eat it all myself after my wife died in 2007. I may be marrying again soon.

Just to help you eat candy?

No kids at all here yesterday. Could be the bears are keeping them at home nights. Will peek in again later to see if Keith got lucky or not.

Not with Jane around, I didn't.

We had very few Trick or Treaters, just like everybody else. Now we have to eat all that chocolate ourselves. andré would be proud.

Didn't make it for changeover but at least I made it before page 2.

We took candy over to the neighbor kids (the only three who have come to our house for years) and went over to be with the grandsons and their stash.

everyone!

I was running the snack table at our local haunted house last night so hubby had trick or treat duty. He said we had 7 or so little goblins show up. He had a little girl around 3 in a bunny costume come to the door with her More...

I bought a bag of chocolates (150 pieces) and was out by 7:35. Several cars arrived with kids from somewhere.
