Judy - you asked for an update on my girls, so here it is! Robyn graduated from UF in 2010, spent two years as an apprentice to a master jeweler, then went to the Gemological Institute of America for six months and got certified as an Advanced Jewelry Designer and as a Jewelry Professional. You should be proud Glenn. You and your wife raised a pair of winners! 02/Feb/14 3:51 AM |  |
Glenn, my wife is the head of the renal unit here in Geraldton, my brother is on dialysis and my sister has recently had on op for a fistula and will be on dialysis soon. We have a family history of PKD. It sounds like you are doing the best for your health....losing weight is a huge plus for being More... 02/Feb/14 3:54 AM |  |
Glad the instructions helped Jerry. Again, for those who want to put a new video on your page, instructions are on my page. You may have to look for them tho. 02/Feb/14 3:58 AM |  |
Speak your truth and happiness will follow. Be happy and trust that your life is good, and, suddenly you will be happy and your life will be good. 02/Feb/14 3:59 AM |  |
all. Good philosophy, Jerry. I'm clicking ''Like'' on that post! ( ) Have a good weekend everyone. Most Americans will be glued to their TV's for the Super Bowl tomorrow. I'm looking forward more to the commercials than to the game itself!! That's a switch! 02/Feb/14 4:15 AM |  |
Kathy, we don't see the commercials up here as there are Canadian commercials shown instead. At any rate, I think it is sad that companies and corporations pay hundreds of thousands dollars to air a commercial. In my mind, I believe that they should put that money to good use, supporting charities instead. 02/Feb/14 4:33 AM |  |
And the rest CG....millions more likely. BUT, I must say I do enjoy watching some of the ads. 02/Feb/14 4:40 AM |  |
Glenn, I didn't know about your health issues and went back to read your post explaining the situation. Congratulations on the weight loss! As was mentioned, it is very important. I have a friend who is doing very well on dialysis and one who, like Gail's hubby, has had a successful transplant More... 02/Feb/14 5:40 AM |  |
Thanks for the report, Glenn! Your girls are doing very well! I still smile when I remember Operation Postcard! LOL! You done good! 02/Feb/14 5:55 AM |  |
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers. One option my nephrologist has discussed was a combination kidney/pancreas transplant. That way I could stop taking the insulin I have been taking for the past twenty years. One nice thing about losing all that weight is that my daily insulin has dropped from More... 02/Feb/14 6:02 AM |  |

just dropping in between - snow shoveling and watching movies - 02/Feb/14 8:59 AM |  |
How do you guys survive in this snow? Still can't quite get the concept of that much - we get excited with a little bit. It's going to be 43*C (109*F) here today. 02/Feb/14 9:07 AM |  |
Lizzy G - Only 3/10 for Keith's puzzle? Don't feel sad. For whatever it's worth, the first time I read Keith's puzzle I only got 1. I came back to it later and got 2 more. The others were too elusive so I then gave up. Now that I know the answers I am glad that I stopped when I did. I don't think I More... 02/Feb/14 11:10 AM |  |
Glenn, a kidney/pancreas transplant is the norm here for people who have kidney failure due to diabetes. Hubby's was due to a virus contracted in 95, so he only required a kidney, but the patient before him got the other kidney and pancreas.Blessings to the donor and their family 02/Feb/14 12:01 PM |  |
How amazing that the donor family gave at least 2 people and their families the most wonderful gift in their time of such distress. We need more stories about what a difference the transplants make on places like this - particularly in Australia where our donor rate is so low. People might understand it more if they hear about it from people they know. 02/Feb/14 2:32 PM |  |
My drivers licence clearly states that I am an organ donor. Once I'm dead, doctors can take whatever they want. I won't need it any more. 02/Feb/14 2:52 PM |  |
Amen Doug, me too. But even more importantly than checking the donor box on our licenses, is to both register with the Australian Donor Registry, which can all be done online, AND have the talk with your family. Make sure they understand your wishes, because when all's said and done, when the time More... 02/Feb/14 2:56 PM |  |
Everybody. I agree with Gail about making sure that loved ones know you want to be a donor. It's marvelous that we can have such good conversations here. Gail - I'm glad you and your hubby are doing so well following his transplant. 02/Feb/14 3:56 PM |  |
Thank you Dottie, our time is here! 02/Feb/14 4:01 PM |  |
It's important too that families have the conversation about organ donation. I was very moved recently by the story of a young girl who died following a boating accident. Because the family had discussed the subject, they knew Courtney's wishes and as a result a number of people were given a chance at life. http://www.bendigoadvertiser.com.au/story/2019253/crash-victims-gracious-gift/ 02/Feb/14 4:16 PM |  |
 all! 02/Feb/14 11:08 PM |  |
Doug, I dont worry too much about finishing, half the fun is in the trying. Besides how can anyone come first if there is no one to come last 02/Feb/14 11:53 PM |  |
