YOUR game, Keith??? The mind boggles.

The answer to the puzzle that Judy COULD NOT solve...

* Mr. Fast and Mr. Speed cross first, taking two minutes.
* Mr. Fast returns with the flashlight, taking two minutes.
* Mr. Slow and Mr. Medium cross, taking ten More...

AGAIN?????

Let's make today's puzzle a little easier in deference to Judy's diminished mental capacity.

Here we go!

First I ate,
Second and Third I applied,
Fourth I rolled,
Fifth I projected.

What am I?

Answers to my inbox, please.

Yes, Kathy, "my" game. Some time ago, I started taking #22 whenever I had the chance, saying it was my favorite number. After a while, appy started competing with me for it ... made it much more fun. Then others joined in. Appy hasn't tried for it in a long time, but the game goes on. I'm thrilled to welcome our newest member to the race ... Joyous Judy.

JOYOUS Judy, Keith, is this a new member?

Thought-provoking message you posted, Rayray, but George Carlin was not the author! It seems a Dr. Moorehead wrote it in 1999. Here's a quote from truthorfiction.com:

Rayray, no doubt a lot of your carlin offering came from him, but somebody else has slipped in stuff that is very non-Carlin. My first clue was the line about praying. Carlin is extremely anti-religious. For proof, I offer the following:

Thank you, Jane. I was saying much the same, but without doing research.

Hel-l-l-l-o-o-o-o ... I am IN the room!

I'll play any game you want, Keith ...

Yes, Kathy ... "First I ate" ... yah, you do that ...

Ok, everybody, have some more coffee!!! You're not making any sense! Kathy's talking about her puzzles and thinks Keith is, too; Keith's talking about his race to 22; Keith's comment about Joyous Judy being a new member to his race seems to have confused GMo. PUHLEEEEEEZE, peeps, have some more coffee!!! Whew! I'm going back to bed myself!!!

No, GMo, same ol' Jumpin' Judy.

Rayray: Carlin's message is facile and clever, but it is also nonsense in its underlying premise. Sure, we have many shortcomings; but we are, in nearly all ways, better off and better people than in any prior age or times. And getting mired in 'the good old days' is a certain sign of a More...

Mellow, Jane. No more coffee for you.

Well, we already know that Carlin was not the author. What do we know about Dr. Moorehead?

Ok, I am now going to attempt a long bike ride to clear my head (in more ways than one). My breathing has improved, and even the wheezing has subsided. Good thing I have a bike basket for my box of Kleenex, however. See you later!!!

I find the comments on the "carlin' item most interesting. Tahnks.
It is the first time I have read it, and whether you are with or against the sentiment, at least first time through it is fun to read.
I agree with Ian that is a balance in this, but people these days find that some of More...

William Wordsworth, from 1807:

The world is too much with us; late and soon,
Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers;
Little we see in Nature that is ours;
We have given our hearts away, a sordid boon!
This Sea that bares her bosom to the moon,
The winds that will be More...

Oh, I know all about the 22 game, Keith. I thought perhaps you were referring to another one.

André, that's a great TFTD!

Don't think Carlin is doing too much 'whinging' now a days, Ian.

Ray, I get quite nostalgic at times, but as I'm sitting here in my lovely AC typing on my lovely keyboard, keeping in touch with all you lovely people around the world, I feel I should get over it!

I remember when the small town where I grew up had (newly-invented) parking meters installed. It was quite a big deal! Now, I am very happy to live on an island where there are no parking meters and only 7 traffic lights. (There were 8, but a roundabout eliminated one, and soon another roundabout will eliminate another.) If this is the antithesis of progress, then I'm all for it!!!

...but I agree with you, Kathy. I LOVE my 'puter and my central air (even though we only use the AC at night for sleeping. The shade from the live oaks keeps the house cool during the day. The hottest it's every been inside by late afternoon is 78.
