Dear friends,

I just read an article on the dangers of heavy drinking....
Scared the $hit out of me.
So that's it!
After today, no more reading!

Checking in late--love the medical giggles! Sunny here, with thunderstorms supposedly coming, probably just in time for our barbecue. Will likely come inside, so as not to dilute the drinks.

Speak your truth and happiness will follow.
Be happy and trust that your life is good and suddenly you will be happy and your life will be good.

I'm among those popping in to see if Karen is still up and about... she hasn't posted in quite a while. Could she be laboring? Or perhaps giving the couch some much needed attention.
20/Jun/09 6:09 AM
 |  |

Well, we know she's not in the 'k' room, Eri!
She was here this morning.
Come out, come out, where ever you are!
(Hmmm. Maybe that's not the best way to phrase that!)

Tomorrow is my predicted due date for her. I hope the baby is starting on it's way out.

Oh, you people are so kind to check in on me. I just spent 5 hours of husband free and one child free. If he could have taken the other one, I would have let him. Though that one is not moving very much today. While they were away, I have kept the couch and my bed happy with my company.
Kathy, I did not see anything wrong with your little saying up there.
20/Jun/09 6:56 AM

You are also correct Kathy, I am not in that room, we are out of ice cream, so what is the use.
20/Jun/09 6:57 AM

Oh, Karen -- I'm both happy and disappointed to see you're still here. how's that for flattery?
Just for fun... (Smilie in labor!)

Good Morning all from Melbourne. I am up but sun is not - waiting for that so we can get out and see the city.
20/Jun/09 7:04 AM
 |  |

Hehehe--that is good Eri.
Please do not be offended when I say, I wish I was not here. I want to be somewhere, drugged up, listening to the sweet sounds of a new born sleeping, with people whispering, "Oh,isn't that the most precious thing you ever saw." And nurses coming in, saying, "I am sorry, but you have to leave so baby and mother can rest."
20/Jun/09 7:05 AM
 |  |

Karen, can you hold off until the 24th?
Please? Pretty please?

Hello Margo! Nice to 'see' you here this morning!

Margo, have a great time in Melbourne.

Oh, Shiela, you ask so nicely.

No.
20/Jun/09 7:18 AM
 |  |

I'm asking for tomorrow. Can you do that?
20/Jun/09 7:22 AM
 |  |

Heidi, your request seems more reasonable. I will try my best to accomadate that date, but not promising anything.

Hubby and I were going down memomery lane the other night. Three years ago, at this time, we were preparing for the girl's arrival. The windows were open, the house was prepared, even cleaned.
This time around, I cannot get the A/C high enough to cool me off. Temps are ranging from 98 to 101 F (36.7 to 38.3 C). The day, actual events are supposed to take place is the day for the 101 F weather.

Hazel is supposed to be getting thunderstorms. I think Tricia is close to Hazel and Jamie is leaving the state, leaving me with all this heat. I really do not think that is fair. We are in the same state, we should share the same weather, I choose the T-storms.

I may have to go on a baby paraphinalia shopping spree again. Seems, the girl is claiming the swing, car seat, play pen and crib for her babies. She is telling me that the baby can sleep in the car. Humm, this could possibly lead into a problem.

Last one, for now. While hubby was in town I asked for Tums and Tylenol extra strength. He brought me Tylenol PM. I took it. So now it is off to the couch for me.

My hubby drives trains for a living. Given the chance he would never do it again. I think the reality and the romance of train driving are very far apart.
I suppose that's why he is having another month off work after his shoulder reconstruction - it's been 3 months already. If he had his way he would never return!

And that's true of everything, Vicki, from cowboys and lawyers to soldiers and priests, fishermen and politicians. Some occupations have a certain romance and challenge attached to them, and attract people for that reason. The reality is usually an unpleasant awakening.

20/Jun/09 10:24 AM

And yet, despite the disillusion and the cynicism, something remains. I have always thought that those particular occupations were like cheap narcotics or a bad woman....you know you ought to walk away, but you never do...

Yes, I remember when my son was young he wanted to be a garbage man and ride on a garbage truck. Luckily, the mystique did not last long!

Ian, I think he actually fell into it as a career. He started out studying aeronautical engineering after school. His parents divorced and he ended up in Cloncurry working on his uncles farm. After his aunt died he started working for the railways and progressed from there to driving More...
