Gotup. Felt feverish. Went back to bed again. Had healthy brunch. Bought 10kg sushi rice (difficult to find just now, and price has increased - to 2 pound/kg). Had tea to recover from cost of rice.

Saturday over here!

Awww, what a cute puppy!

Gonna finish cutting up fruit for a salad to take to my hen party later today--4 gals that used to go to the same church, but have gotten married, had kids, moved or otherwise have changed churches but still try to keep in touch and get together a few times a year!

We had a rice scare here a few months ago. People were buying huge bags of rice. Stores finally put a limit on the number of bags you could buy. Kind of ridiculous since now you can still buy rice at a slightly higher price but everything here is priced higher. I can't believe that I'm spending More...

Shosho - Yikes! How do you get by on $50-60 a week on food? We try to have fresh fish 3 or 4 times a week, and the fish alone costs us more than $50!!!

Everybody. Was exhausted and slept for nearly 11 hours. But of course I slept too late to make it to the local feed store (closes at noon on Saturday), so now I have a half hour drive... each way... for more dog food and chicken feed. There goes my money, with the price of gas. More...

Jane, no, the gas is $50-60. The groceries weekly is about $225-250!!! My hubby and I don't eat out much lately. Got to watch what we eat, unfortunately our waistlines are where we can watch them! Hubby more so than me.

Does it date me when I say that I can remember yipping over spending $5.00 to fill up my little VW bug? And as a child I remember spending a nickel for Hershey chocolate bar (the same size as the one for which I could spend over a dollar)?
20/Jul/08 2:04 AM

I remember that nickel candy bar, too Shosho.

Heidi, how's Lambie Pie (the lamb of the recently ill ewe) doing? Sorry, took the liberty of naming the little one but you didn't indicate whether you named it yet. Still frolicking about? Are the elder ladies (collies) adjusting to their new home? Well rest now and I'll interrogate you later!

I remember nickel Hershey bars and dime Hersey bars (they were bigger). I remember nickel ice cream cones (single dip), nickel Cokes and nickel bags of peanuts. I remember when Pepsi came out (it was a cheap alternative to Coke), and you got twice as much soda for the same money as Coke. More...
