Good morning John, Plum and Shosho - I like getting on page 1. Once Daylight savings finishes here in Oz, I'll never make it here.
Have a nice day everyone!

Nope, cat wasn't thrilled, John, but I also had to take hubby to work today since we lent his car to our son. Son's car (which we just sold to him) broke down so we lent him hubby's car. Mechanic discovered among other things that the mice who had built a nest in our engine area had also chewed More...

Goodness me, where is everybody??
Shiela - not sure about DS - maybe April? Long way to go still.
Well, it is way past my bedtime now - DS or not - that's what happens if you fall asleep in front of the TV. Oh dear! Goodnight all!

Good Maen all! I received the most wonderful surprise in on my doorstep yesterday. CP sent me a gorgeous watercolor of a platypus. Can't wait to get it framed. You Ozzie's are soooooooo sweet and wonderful - I'm all verklempt!

Bad news, Shiela! We have the same trouble here with squirrels. Mr. VV hangs a moth cube in the engine during the nesting season. It works quite well to keep the critters away.

BTW - these feathers are beautiful. The green ones make me think of the King Parrots I saw on my trip down-under.

Vici - A watercolor of a platypus! Sudokuland people are so wonderful. When you get it framed and hung, post a photo of yourself with the artwork.
Shiela - we've had a wiring harness destroyed by mice and we regularly have found mouse nests under the hood. (I'd cut back the cat's food, but I can't stand the insistent meowing at 2 a.m.)

Maen Sudokuland! They are teasing today that we might see a peak of sun in Ohio. It's appearance would be most welcome as these gray skys are getting a bit dull.

We too have issues with mice in the car. A situation probably exacerbated by letting young children snack in there.

Yeah, the wiring in your car is one consideration, but what about the unfortunate critters? Up in the mountains, one of our vehicles is covered and parked in the trees for the summer. We started it up a few years ago, and bloody fragments of chipmunk appeared everywhere, as if the poor little fellow had fallen into a blender! Yuk!

OH Judy - YUK is right!
Jill - good to see you around...how goes it?
Plum - I definitely will do as you requested. The watercolor is amazing.

I'm telling you guys - those moth cubes work great. You can buy them harnessed in a plastic covering that has a little hanger on it. It can be hung under the hood in the engine compartment. No trouble with critters chewing up the wires or tearing out stuff for nests since.

everyone!

Our neighbor had problems with squirrels chewing wires under the hood of his car. We haven't(so far).
I will be looking for the moth cubes. for the suggestion, Vici!

From Melbourne.
Lovely collection of feathers.
I can remember parking the car in the city one night and as we drove home we could hear a cat. Yes the noise was comming from the motor. It was luckier than your friends cat Heidi. We had to taken it back to where we had parked the car.

For those with rodent vs. spark plug wire problems, a sure fire mouse trap in a large space like a garage or hangar that requires little oversight, go to http://www.backwoodshome.com/articles2/easterly110.html
It really works.
