beautiful looking women. I'll hazard a guess and say the older-looking woman in the centre is the Mum with her three daughters. I can remember my grandma (who was born in the 1890's) wearing dresses like that. I don't think she ever changed her style of clothing so when she was still a young woman, she looked much older.

I guess there weren't many shops selling different clothing back then.

The women sewed their own, and pretty much conformed to the way others dressed.

I don't remember my grandmother is these type of clothes, but there are certainly photos around of her mother, my aunts and others in it.

Going to spend the day getting ready for my first week of volunteering. Have to make items that will give my 7 classes of students that will give them a hands on experience in science. Made enough transparent and translucent cards and now have to made opaque cards, then on to another project.

Keep asking myself why do I do this to myself? Answer: I'd be bored otherwise! Also get to see my old colleagues!

I'm thinking 1920s based on some family pictures I have.

Morning all, yes Mum and daughters. The girl on the right stands out because her hair is parted different to the others.

I think the problem with the daughter on the right is due to the way the light hits her face, not anything wrong with her. Her hair is parted the same as the daughter on the left. Mother and daughter behind both have the part on the other side. You'd think for this formal portrait they'd find something less like sacks to wear, but these might have been their nice (?) black silk dresses.
