A nice, easy Easy... 1-9 straight... and a pleasant picture at the end. I wish we knew who this was, wading happily thru' the water.

The annual clean the house for harvest-come out and help me with the preparations that should have been done two months ago has begun. TM thinks he wants to cut wheat tomorrow, and allegedly the cousin is coming tomorrow.

Does the volume of the thunder have anything to do with the proximity of the storm? If it does, I swear this one is right over my house.

Guess I can bring back my storm cloud.

Serena, you need the Weather Channel app. Gives you up to date weather for your area and, if you want, for the entire US. (And for the world, I think.) Go to: http://getweathertoday.com/indexc.html
24/Jun/13 4:58 AM
 |  |

Why do I need the weather channel app when I can look out my window? I've checked the weather online before and they have told me it's sunny while I'm watching it the grey clouds pour rain out my window.

fellow puzzlers, hope all is well in your world.

Serena, I keep telling hubby the same thing, he wont get out of bed in the morning til he has heard what the weather is doing on the bedside radio! Much more accurate to look out the window as you say!
24/Jun/13 5:28 AM

youngsters these days probably dont even know what a radio is!!!!
24/Jun/13 5:30 AM
 |  |

Lizzy G, oh yes they do but theirs is satellite broadcast. Argh! I had the darndest time trying to tell Sirius company that I didn't want it since I really don't listen to radio anymore except for the local traffic. Mainly I bring my iPod Classic and have my entire library of music and audiobooks to listen to!

Serena, if you count the seconds between when you see the lightning flash and when you finally hear the thunder, you will know the number of miles or kilometers distance of the lightning. 5 seconds for every mile, 3 seconds for every kilometers.

I thought of bringing out my summer avatar but we have our usual June gloom. Overcast clouds that start our day and sometimes if we're lucky they'll go by afternoon. Oh well, the weather will make up for it with a vengeance, August and September will be very warm if not down right hot! The More...

Serena, I don't listen to the Weather Channel. I look at the animated radar for the area and state and draw my own conclusions. If I look out the window and see a tree falling towards my house, it's a little late to take adequate shelter.

Good mAen, good people. I still have so much typing and printing to do for my first homeschool group mailing before tomorrow. The person who would otherwise be helping me has computer problems just like I did last fall, so what goes around comes around as others picked up the slack for me.

I just discovered the Weather Bug app with the Spark feature - it tells you how far away from your location the lightning strikes are. It's good for construction and agricultural workers as well as for golfers, etc. - people who are outside.
