Jim: So sorry to hear of your loss, my prayers and thoughts are with you. I lost my mother 8 years ago to lung cancer. I was holding her hand when she died, so hard to let her go. She was in pain and told me she was ready. She had been so full of life just months before, hard stuff to go More...

Kim - I was so sorry to hear about your in-laws. Losing one is traumatic enough, but to lose both in such a short time is unthinkable. Your husband must be having a terrible time coping even if he doesn't show it outwardly. I was also sorry to hear about your sister-in-law and hope that the diagnosis (when it's finally made) will be a good one. It's good to have you back.

Anne: I agree about the shopping bag, but isn't it usual to sit on hearth rugs - rather than to place them on your knee. Perhaps the former would involve too much wear and tear.

Why is it no comment?
Looks like my folks, Ukrainians waiting for bus, or just having small talk on the bus stop. May be at some annual fare with the costume dress code.
Though it could be Romanian or Moldavian as well.

2:13 Beautiful folklore costumes.
Seems there are many Sudokuists suffering from losing loved ones. Here's hoping that in some way, you're finding comfort here by sharing your thoughts and knowing that you are among caring friends.

Kim, I think I said this before (I"m having a senior moment) but the message is the same, I'm so sorry for your losses. It's hard to believe but as Rayray has poetically stated, that time allows the hurt to lessen so that you can go on with life. Your kids need you and your husband so life must go on.

Nancy, here's hope for your husband. I'm sending wishes and calm for both of you. Try to see the positive side, they say that a positive attitude has a better survival rate. I have three dear friends who have battled cancer and succeeded. They range from two to ten years of cancer free lives. Carly can do it too.

Sorry that the Aussies lost their quarterfinal match against Brazil 3-2 today (FIFA Women's World Cup). That means that the US will play Brazil in the semifinal next Thursday. Jaffy does raise the possibility they might be KGB agents in drag. Whoever they are, they do look formidable; although their costumes are magnificent. The transparent plastic carrier was probably by demand of airport security.
