A Thought For The Day: I was always told to respect my elders but as time goes by, it's getting harder and harder to find any. 25/Jan/14 12:00 AM |  |
 I'm one. 25/Jan/14 12:00 AM |  |
You certainly sound as if you qualify. 25/Jan/14 12:01 AM |  |
Neil probably qualifies as my elder too but if I showed him respect, it might go to his head. 25/Jan/14 12:02 AM |  |
Ah Doug, he's a pom and his compatriots will be in your fair city on the weekend for another flogging. 25/Jan/14 12:04 AM |  |
all. I see everyone is in a good mood today. 25/Jan/14 12:19 AM |  |
Disemboweler time. Note that #5 is a four word answer. 1. A fold in cloth, a braid, to tap gently 2. Burn with hot liquid, marine fish of the Carangidae family, unhappy3. Morning. Yea, my elders are dwindling, too. 25/Jan/14 1:34 AM |  |
It became a worry when I become the eldest member of my side of the family! (nearly 15 years ago) 25/Jan/14 1:42 AM |  |
It is uncomfortable knowing you're ''At the front of the line.'' 25/Jan/14 1:48 AM |  |
Greg - Re: your question. What you've got so far is good. All you need is the second word. 25/Jan/14 2:16 AM |  |

This longevity conversation inspires me to add my two cents worth - My Mom is a healthy 102 although she was born with no ball and socket in one hip, still walks with a walker. Mom still has a living sibling. My Dad died just days shy of 100. I hope my kids can cope with me when I get that age! 25/Jan/14 3:13 AM |  |
 everyone!!! 25/Jan/14 3:48 AM |  |
Thank you, Shiela! Here's some flying your way!!! 25/Jan/14 3:48 AM |  |
My thoughts on longevity:My Grandmother lived to be 97, Mom is 98 and still going strong. So what age will I live to be??? That is THE question! With medical science vastly improved since Grandma's time, I could potentially live much longer. However, life-style will play a part, I'm sure. Since More... 25/Jan/14 3:50 AM |  |
Well, Sandra, my dad may not be as old as your mom but sometimes I think he's going to out last me, he drives me crazy at times! Today I get to take him to get his physical! Then next Monday, I get to take my mom to get her physical with the same doctor! Couldn't manage the both of them at the same time! 25/Jan/14 3:51 AM |  |
 Well see you later! 25/Jan/14 3:51 AM |  |
Thanks, Shosho! (With that, it looks like I'll live to be over a hundred!) 25/Jan/14 3:52 AM |  |
And if I believe in luck as a factor, I just hit 22 without trying! 25/Jan/14 3:58 AM |  |
When I look at the obituaries in the paper (not being morbid, it is just that being from a fairly small area, I often know them), a very sizable percentage of them are younger than I am. 25/Jan/14 5:06 AM |  |
Time for class - we started two hours late due to ice on the roads. 25/Jan/14 5:07 AM |  |
Good afternoon to all! We have seen this fellow before, and I'm sure his face is familiar to someone Serena. 25/Jan/14 5:13 AM |  |
I was on earlier, long enough to get confused by one of Hal's clues, but then I do have those senility flashes where I'm confused easily. 25/Jan/14 5:15 AM |  |
Jamie, you ARE being morbid. Enjoy what you have and mourn for those who have already passed. 25/Jan/14 5:16 AM |  |
The card I sent Peter is very appropriate for his birthday weekend considering he is being out-fished again by his grandies. 25/Jan/14 5:18 AM |  |
 CP and gone. Cheers! 25/Jan/14 5:19 AM |  |
 Happy Friday! 25/Jan/14 5:48 AM |  |
Good mAen, good people. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! It's super, super cold and super, super windy and 'near blizzard' conditions are on their way as soon as it warms up just enough to be able to snow (too cold for that at the moment). This is the kind of winter that exposes all leaky seals around the doors and windows. 25/Jan/14 7:00 AM |  |
I'm thinking of tearing my electric blanket off the bed and taking it to the living room so we can all snuggle under it on the couch to watch TV. And maybe stay there in a puppy pile all weekend? 25/Jan/14 7:18 AM |  |
Since medical care has become unaffordable for people my age and younger, I think there will be a downturn in life expectancies for generation Y and beyond. 25/Jan/14 7:20 AM |  |

I wish I could get the wood stove in the living room to stay lit. The wood is too freshly cut and split. 25/Jan/14 7:25 AM |  |
Well, maybe we need to bake something. 25/Jan/14 7:26 AM |  |
