G'day mates,here's today's daffynition:
DIPLOMAT: A person who tells you to go to hell in such a way that you actually look forward to the trip.

..And here's today's factoid:
Emergency rooms treat twice as many left-handed people for accicents as right-handed people.

I'm left-handed and have never been treated in the emergency room for an accident. Should I be concerned?
27/Sep/12 12:06 AM

The emergency room fact probably has to do with left-handers using things geared for the right-handed world.

I can spend a lot of time in the ER, Kayo. I never realized it was due to being born left handed.

In my case, the large number of ER visits is due to being a klutz.

I need to make some more apple pies today. I make one or two pies a day and freeze them, so I don't waste the massive number of apples that my 2 little trees produced this year. If I tried, I could probably put a few dozen pies in the freezer.

I wonder if my brother-in-law is left-handed?
(So far, he's cut several fingers off with a power saw and recently nailed his foot to the floor with a nail gun! He plans to build his own house soon. Should I check?)

Maybe left-handed people should be especially careful around the full moon. A police dispatch friend swears it gets crazier around that time.

Heidi... You may want to ship the extra apples to Michigan! The Michigan apple crop is almost non-existent this year due to a devastating spring frost.

We'll take some apples as well. My local pick-your-own orchard closed up that part of their business early this year.

Hi all. Ok so you've got someone to keep you company in your end-of-the-world bag...don't forget who they are..and the next thing you need to take care of is some form of transport to tootle around in. This can be anything at all, imagination can run wild and all is permitted. What's it to be and why? And, yes, it will fit in the bag!

I just added yet another dog to my household. This one is a Boxer named Oliver. He belonged to some of my favorite neighbors who decided that they've gotten too old to handle all their farm work, so just sold their farm and bought a place in a retirement village in Florida. This week is moving More...

Oh Shiela, that BIL of yours sounds like he should not be allowed within 5 feet of any power equipment, leave it to the professionals! Hubbie and I know our limits, the only power equipment we own is an electric drill! Take care all and be well today!
27/Sep/12 12:37 AM

Shiela... Your BIL sounds like me. I've done the same thing with a circular saw.... fortunately the hospital was able to reattach the fingers with hardly a scar.

Heidi, are you just going to the dogs? Happy that you were there to take the dog. I know he/she will be happy.

No reaatachment for him. Too mangled. He seems to get along fine without them, though. We call him 'Stubby'!

Oh, his name is Oliver, might be a boy.

I have always wanted a Jetson vehicle. I could zip around all over the place. But a time travel machine would be cool, too.

Well, I'm left handed too, and the only time I was ever in an emergency room was when I had to tote a friend who got too close to a local croc.
Shiela, if the fingers your BIL is cutting off are on his right hand, he may have no choice but to be left handed eventually.

Heidi, if I didn't have a diabetic 'fraidy cat, I'd take Oliver. I have always liked the personality of Boxers. Since they are usually a very loyal breed, I hope he adjusts quickly.

everyone!

That's an easy one, Fiona. I would finally get the Lexus I've been unable to convince hubby that I need.

I am also left handed and have personally never needed a trip to the ER. Taking kids and hubby is a different matter.
