Hi, Karen, The Fount of Culinary Information!
Good morning, John. Your wife is on my mind, so please keep us informed about her condition, OK?
Today will be our third consecutive day with temperatures over 100*. Geez, I miss the cool, crisp days and crunchy, fallen leaves of the Midwest!

We pop these off and use them for bait when surf fishing. Boy, do they ever latch on tightly!

I haven't had mussels or oysters at home since ED died. I can't open them.

HI all! Hope you all had a good weekend. I see the boss of the firm that manufactures Segway scooters has died; appears he rolled right of the edge of a cliff on one. Users beware - and we saw loads of them in the States. They will have to change the warning notice now to include 'do not ride anywhere near a cliff edge'.

I am not complaining that my teeth are chattering and my toes are numb. I love this cooler weather.

I so looked forward to having the windows open and just the fans on last night, while I snuggled deeply into the covers. But those Things of mine did not appreciate the cooler weather one More...

Easy peasy one today - yes, really! Answers to the 'how come it's over 100 in SD now and when I was there it was just lukewarm??' inbox.

In this teaser, you are to start with the word 'HALF', and then each time, change a letter to make a new word. You need to continue this process until More...

everyone!

There was an article on a Segway tour company in D.C. in this morning's Washington Post. Seems the owners of the tour co. don't think they should have to have a tour guide license to take folks by Segway around the city. They are More...

I guess most people took the day off from the puzzles yesterday. Only two answers in my lonely little inbox.

The puzzle: 1 = R per Y of a T's L
Answer: 1 Ring per Year of a Tree's Life

for Glenn and Greg.
Good work, guys!

Fully recovered, Fiona. Thanks for asking, I think. And I didn't "go public" as you so indelicately put it. I merely mentioned my lack of solid food when a discussion of fiber intake was going on! I never mentioned my rear end!!

We're having the last hurrah of summer, with record hot weather. We spent the weekend in San Francisco with our grandkids and it was 91 F there - amazingly warm temps for the City. The rest of northern California is baking as well.

To be perfectly honest, I am rather intrigued as to what you yanks actually get up to during the 'procedure' as you so delicately put it. There have been numerous occasions of members of this site getting the 'procedure' and lots of sympathetic oohs and aahhs about the foul stuff you have to drink More...

Colonoscopies are not routine in France? Oh, I guess you're just too young, Fiona ... and thus still full of it!

Kathy and I would be glad to perform the procedure on you, Fiona, if you're that curious ... Don your rubber gloves, Nurse Kathy! We're going in!

"Get up to" is an apt description!
The delightful experience is covered by insurance. At least, in my case it is.

If cost was the issue, you couldn't even GIVE them away!

Gowned, gloved, and ready, shine that light a little further down, nurse!

No, dear Fiona. Not ALL of us sit here and stare at the screen waiting for a response to our witticisms ...

Oh. Wait! She has to down the gallon of liquid first! Get the funnel!

This sounds like a colonoscopy. Been there, done that, wont need it again for 10 years according to my doctor.
