3:44 it's amazing how wet nail polish and making up a children's fantasy song that has a lot of alliterative words in it slows down a person's sudoku time.

G-o-o-o-o-a-t! Since we keep goats, we have a habit now of saying "g-o-o-o-o-a-t!" every time we see a goat in a movie or on the computer. It is absolutely amazing how many movies have goats in them. Hundreds of titles everyone would recognize. I have a list somewhere ...

From a real "Car Guy" out in Los Angeles, CA.

SO...you took FEDZILLA up on its offer of $4500. dollars to trade in your old "Clunker" (interesting choice of words)? Well, let's see who got the best More...

But wait, it gets even better: you also got ripped off by the dealer. For example, the month before the "cash for clunkers" program started, every dealer here in LA was selling the Ford Focus with all the goodies including A/C, auto transmission, power windows, etc for $12,500. because More...

We could also add in the additional taxes (sales tax, state tax, dealer prep, etc.) on the extra $3000 that you paid for the car, along with the Five years of interest on the car loan; but let's just stop here while you kick yourself. Suffice it to say that those costs will be much higher than any More...

Okay, move over, Jerry
It seemed to me that many of the people driving "clunkers" were low income people that could not afford to buy fuel efficient cars. I thought at More...

Jerry: Everything I've found through Google on "Clunker taxes" says that, while some State taxes may apply, there will be no Federal tax on the incentive programs. Snopes agrees.

Jerry - you forgot the mechanic that has to go out of business or let mechanics go on unemployment, since the "clunker" was destroyed, rather than sold as a used car to some one who could only afford the "clunker". Like the kid goint to college. It also impacted the junk yards, that profit from selling parts - that are no longer available.

Both very huggable! Raining here now, with more coming on the weekend. Managed to get my stair climb in but got wet walking home. Oh well, didn't have much of a hairdo anyway ...

Eve, I agree. And the next time anyone raises a glass of wine, the goblet may have been a windshield, remade in China.

Jerry: The most important part of the calculation is how much money for parts and repairs is/was required to keep the clunker running year after year.

My own More...

Good Morning people of the world. Hope all is well. Been keeping partial tabs on what has been going on lately. This weekend I will be able to annoy everyone. Hubby is taking the girls to MIL's to attend a tractor show and two birthday parties. I am going to have so much time on my hands, I might go insane.

Aileen and Angie, you intentially went into that room to prepare food!
And Aileen, you went to a class willingly?

BTW, my baby is 15 weeks old now, does that still count as newborn? Man is leaving for the weekend, I might get hungry while he is gone.

Enjoying a short break and some food after a fairly busy night. Raining here in Canberra, we've had lots of customers, some have stayed, a few have gone home and 2 have had babies. More coming in shortly.

Rain? Now I know that I used to know what that was. I'll have to look it up on Wikipedia.
Jerry you are definitely a 'glass half empty' type!
Our stimulus was free insulation, we are on the waiting list, & hopefully it will arrive before summer.
