I had a big day yesterday. My little dog has had an ulcer on his eye for over 6 weeks and my local vet had done all they could to fix it.

So I drove 3 hours each way to take him to an animal eye specialist and with any luck now his eye will be healed in 10 days.

I've got my fingers crossed, because we are all tired of this situation - dog included!

He has been on a lead when outside all this time, which is very hard for an energetic Jack Russell! As a result of his loss of freedom, we have large number of rabbits in the garden, something, possibly possums, have eaten the buds of the apple trees and rabbits have ring barked the young apple trees!

He can smell all these animals, but can't scare them off!. Very frustrating all round! Hopefully he can resume his old lifestyle soon and most importantly be free of pain.

Thank you, Serena!! What I didn't figure was that the grandparents were possibly living in sin ... and were the parents of the children who married! LOL! But in this day and age, I guess anything is possible!

Wifey says they have a new machine which is not so squishy. That made her happy. And as all the guys know, a happy wife is a happy life.

I would just like to thank my Sudoku friends for their birthday wishes yesterday. At Four Score Years and a day I am now officially 'Old'.
I am currently in Melbourne celebrating with my brothers and their families. Back next week.
Take care.

Sacky - I'm so glad that Rufus's misery with his eye might be resolved. Not only will he no longer have the pain, but he can become master of his yard again. Please keep us informed of his progress.

Sue - How is your shoulder healing? I'm guessing the worst is over but sometimes the PT can seem worse than the surgery.

Hal - I hope Tropical Storm (potential hurricane) Arthur doesn't affect you or your family. I'll be thinking of you when I follow news of its whereabouts.

Yes, Peter, it's better for you that your wife is happy. Why don't you take her out to eat to keep her happy!?! :)

Thanks Dottie. I think we'll be OK. We're a hundred miles inland, so I don't anticipate any serious problems.
Of course, I said the same thing back in 1989 when Hugo came through.
