Good afternoon to all! Nice panorama view Kate. 03/Sep/12 3:31 AM |  |
Kayo, would the type of milk you get depend on the type of music played? For example, elevator music for 1 percent milk and rock and roll for a good milk shake? 03/Sep/12 3:46 AM |  |
Thanks for the updates Karen. For those of us not on Facebook, it is nice to be kept up to date about things. 03/Sep/12 3:53 AM |  |

I am finally sitting in MY chair and slept in my own bed last night. Alan whisked me off to KC as soon as I got home Friday afternoon. The plan was a Royals game, but it was rained out. We went to a casino instead. I played all night on the penny slots on only one dollar! I even made \$6.50. TM More... 03/Sep/12 4:47 AM |  |
Just one busy little bee, aren't we Sarah Beth? 03/Sep/12 4:57 AM |  |
I'm certainly glad to know you were just visiting Leavenworth! I wonder where that name came from? It's certainly not a place you ''leave'' too quickly. Let me wake up Mr. Google..... 03/Sep/12 5:26 AM |  |
Ah! It is located in Leavenworth County, Kansas! That makes sense. 03/Sep/12 5:29 AM |  |
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fort_Leavenworth The town and county are actually named for the Fort. It has long been the home of the Federal Penitentiary, and the place where courtmarshalled (SP) soldiers serve their time. The city of Lansing is right next to Leavenworth, today you can't More... 03/Sep/12 5:40 AM |  |
[snort] back atcha, Kathy. Don't you know it's not nice to make fun of the elderly. 03/Sep/12 6:32 AM |  |
2:03, but with trying to listen to something funny on the radio in the background! Hi all. 03/Sep/12 6:57 AM |  |
 Morning all,a great view of Canberra,thanks Kate.Sarah Beth, I think you needed that sleep in this morning.lol 03/Sep/12 7:07 AM |  |
And the fort was named after...... ''Colonel Henry Leavenworth, with the officers and men of the 3rd Infantry Regiment from Jefferson Barracks at St. Louis, Missouri, established Fort Leavenworth in 1827 to be a forward base protecting the Santa Fe Trail.'' I learn something new everyday in Sudokuland! 03/Sep/12 7:22 AM |  |
 I AM the elderly, Hal. I can make fun all I want! 03/Sep/12 7:24 AM |  |
My vacuum seems to be on it's last legs. Does anyone have a recommendation for a not too pricey upright? I know Dysons are good, but I don't want to spend that much. Relatively lightweight and bagless would be good, too. Who has a newer one they are happy with? Mine is leaving more than it's picking up! 03/Sep/12 7:32 AM |  |
 Good morning. 03/Sep/12 7:32 AM |  |
The frost hasn't melted off the grass yet. 03/Sep/12 7:33 AM |  |
So it looks like we are in for another gorgeous sunny day. 03/Sep/12 7:34 AM |  |
Can't comment on the vacuum cleaner, Kathy, cos mine is a Dyson. 03/Sep/12 7:35 AM |  |
Hi CP! It's warm and very humid here. I'd prefer the frost! 03/Sep/12 7:36 AM |  |
But I have noticed that one of those telemarketing ads lately has been advertising a vacuum cleaner that is meant to rival the Dyson in suction etc, is lighter, .... 03/Sep/12 7:37 AM |  |
I think I've seen that, too! Was it a Shark? I don't remember. I'll check back tomorrow to see if anyone has a suggestion.Right now, I have to go fire up the grill. We're having steak tonight!Hubby insists that I grill better than he does. What a crock. He just doesn't want to do it! 03/Sep/12 7:46 AM |  |
Good morning fellow sudokuists..Karen thank you so much for the posts from the Iron Curtain.. hmm..perhaps I'd best just make that 'Curtain'.. I'd also missed a few on FB Keith and hadn't found time to go to her/sudoku page to check on their travels. 03/Sep/12 8:08 AM |  |
I have a Kirby upright. It sucks the chrome off a bumper hitch, but it was expensive, it is heavy, and doesn't get under things very well. My Kenmore canisters are still my favorites, but doen't go up and down stairs well. TM has an old celebrity canister that he bought in 1981 when he found More... 03/Sep/12 8:47 AM |  |
Hello everyone!Sorry I didn't come back after a couple of comments, yesterday - interrupted by phone calls & a few other things (like housework!!). After which I had a call from the man, who said he was on his way home so I stated organizing dinner. Poor fellow took ages - a couple of car accidents on the freeway, so got off on to the Pacific Hwy only to find another one!!! 03/Sep/12 8:56 AM |  |
Kathy, I bought a Dyson DC29, a couple of weeks ago (~\$670 Aussie dollars). Works like a Trogan!! It's not an upright - looks a bit like a giant snail. So far I'm extremely pleased with it, but it needs empty often! I'm hoping this will change when it's finally finished getting all the stuff out of the carpet & rugs that the old one wasn't getting!!!!! 03/Sep/12 9:03 AM |  |
Thanks Karen, for all the typing required to update as all on Kathy & Rob's travels!! 03/Sep/12 9:04 AM |  |
One of the reasons I didn't get back was because I sorted through the new house photos, cropped & shrunk a few, then added them to my page in response to some requests to do so!! Anyway there are 15 of them in my gallery. I added another photo this morning after doing the Easy Sudoku jigsaw - the More... 03/Sep/12 9:09 AM |  |
Love your gallery, Kate. That is a lot of work, glad you can possibly see an end in site. No problem in postings Kathy's travels, just simple cut and paste. Love that option. 03/Sep/12 10:09 AM |  |
 Nice pix, Kate. 03/Sep/12 10:17 AM |  |
Barbara was very interested in Kathy's travels in Russia, Karen. She (Barbara) went on a trip to Moscow and St Petersburg in 1974. She says, 'Thank you.' 03/Sep/12 10:22 AM |  |
