Rob, good luck with the waiting game! But this wait is worth it!Love this dog, although I couldn't let it on my furniture. 31/Jul/07 12:19 AM |  |
Hi all, a quick request for help! My daughter has to present a talk for an annual competition and has chosen to give a humourous talk on whether parents really know what they're talking about when they pass on their gems of wisdom. She's looking at old wives' tales which can be true or not, like More... 31/Jul/07 12:34 AM |  |
2:14 and we're in for a scorcher of a week.Rob, you must be on the edge of your seat--I'm thinking of you and your family and hoping your precious arrival decides to make his appearance soon! 31/Jul/07 12:45 AM |  |
Susan - workmate says her grandma swore by blocks of camphor tucked into the bottom of the bedclothes to stop leg cramps. I think someone told me burnt corks could be used for the smae thing. 31/Jul/07 12:48 AM |  |
Rosemary - no I didn't wear my jammies to work, and passed up the opportunity to put on my work jammies (scrubs) as soon as I got here to go for a c section. But I tucked my Little Miss Naughties into my bed with instructions for 4T to turn on the leccie blanket when he gets up so they'll be all warm and toastie for me to get in to. 31/Jul/07 12:53 AM |  |
Good Monday Maen, all!Am getting a good start to 2 days off work by doing the Sudoku... 31/Jul/07 12:54 AM |  |
Yea, it is a cute dog, but just a bit scruffy to be on such an elegant chair. 31/Jul/07 12:55 AM |  |
Kathy - 4T will be playing baseball again this year (WILL, I say, because I bought him a new glove in the 2nd last match last season and told him that meant he had to play this year). Season starts in September. 31/Jul/07 12:55 AM |  |
Susan, refer to 'Poor Richard's Almanac', a series of books of wit and wisdom written by Ben Franklin. My dad had a couple of good words of advice but they'd not sound quite right comming from a young lady. 31/Jul/07 12:58 AM |  |
just had to check back before shutting down. Jeb, if it's anything about 'activities' that can make you go blind, yes, I think you're right! 31/Jul/07 1:02 AM |  |

Susan Some people say , do not eat fish with milk or yaourt . 31/Jul/07 1:26 AM |  |
 31/Jul/07 1:28 AM |  |
Susan .Also some people do not handle the salt to each other and the soap , they think they may argue . 31/Jul/07 1:28 AM |  |
Maen everyone...we are finally home and it feels good Now we play catch up on the yard. Lots to do... 31/Jul/07 1:35 AM |  |
Rob, glad to know all is well with your DIL & baby. You may still have another two weeks or more to wait! But that's okay, he'll just get bigger & stronger. I'm happy for you that you will soon have your first grandson.Susan, my mother used to tell me it was bad for my eyes to read in low More... 31/Jul/07 1:39 AM |  |
Dave - Happy Homecoming! We know what that 'catching up' is like. Don't work too hard. Hopefully, it's a lot cooler in Oregon than in FL. 31/Jul/07 1:48 AM |  |
to ~ Sara (my Mom)we are having a little party at the house for her, after her dinner out yesterday we are playing scrabble today ,after all shes been through the last few years shes doing great! 31/Jul/07 1:53 AM |  |
Reminds me of a rescued Lab mix I had (except she was never that small). home DAVE - with all that work you are looking at - it is good that it is cool this morning. So why I are you reading this and not out there working? New LAUGH-IN clip on my Utube - real slap stick 31/Jul/07 2:03 AM |  |
Thank you Eve and Kathy. Part of my catch-up is also computer related, but you are correct, I should be out there because it is overcast and nice and cool...sorry Kathy. I just love Oregon don't tell anyone I said that. 31/Jul/07 2:15 AM |  |
Nancy, I'm so glad you are doing lots of celebrating for your Mom's birthday. Enjoy every single day you have to spend with her. I lost my Mom when she was 82, & I miss her SO much. I would give anything to have one more day to play games with her - her favorite was Boggle & boy was she good at it!!shosho - a belated to your mom & dad, too. 31/Jul/07 2:33 AM |  |
Just checked my Sudoku birthday list & saw that July 31 is Cathy from south australia's birthday. Cathy, are you still around?? 31/Jul/07 2:37 AM |  |
Actually, Susan, it was more useful than that. A situation arose in our business involving a competitor. His advice to me was not to get into a pi\$\$ing contest with a skunk. Best advise I think I've ever received. Not something you'd want to hear during a young lady's elocution contest. On the More... 31/Jul/07 2:51 AM |  |
to Nancy's Mom, Sara! to Sandra! to Cathy from S. Australia! to all the others that I missed in the past few days. 31/Jul/07 3:18 AM |  |
 Hey Sarah Beth - how are you? 31/Jul/07 3:23 AM |  |
A big hearfelt to all who congratulated me on the birth of my grandson, Bergen. I leave today to take a second ''nana'' trip. Rob, it is the most wonderful thing. A special treat for me...as one of my Aunts pointed out..''it is amazing to see the face of your father in that tiny scrap of a human being''. He really does resemble Papa Bob, especially with all that dark hair. 31/Jul/07 3:23 AM |  |
 Have a great trip, Sarah Beth. 31/Jul/07 3:26 AM |  |
Greg, Thank you for the information from yesterday regarding an Inukshuk, I might have seen them else where but these really made an inpression because there were so many and some were very large. 31/Jul/07 3:28 AM |  |
Susan, my grandmother told me NEVER to touch a toad because they caused warts! She was also very big on chicken soup for a cold, and eating garlic to prevent a cold. The wart thing is complete hooey, but I understand there is some truth to the chicken soup and garlic for colds. Kathy, my birthday is March 2. Is there a list that we can access with everyone's dates? 31/Jul/07 3:32 AM |  |
Hi CP! I think I am feeling overwhelmed? My 4T enrolls for his Senior year of High School (his last) on Aug 7th, so I guess my trip will be shorter than I thought. So much to do in August...so much time, so little energy. How are the babies there? 31/Jul/07 3:41 AM |  |
