 G'day mates. Here's today's daffynition:pessimist — Someone who looks both ways before crossing a one-way street. ...and here's today's factoid:Eugene Oregon was the first city to have one-way streets. 04/Jun/13 12:00 AM |  |

I am soooooo glad you are back welcoming our new day in with little tidbits of important information, Kayo! 04/Jun/13 12:02 AM |  |
Eugene is where my daughter and her family live. I'll have to pass on that tidbit of info to her. I've never heard it before, nor have I noticed a lot of one way streets there. 04/Jun/13 12:05 AM |  |
Maen all, Nice day today -- off for a bike ride again! On Saturday I rode about 100 miles through the mountains. 04/Jun/13 12:09 AM |  |
 Thank you, Shiela. 04/Jun/13 12:10 AM |  |
Time to peep in for a quick hello. 04/Jun/13 12:10 AM |  |
More kitties. Not a happy looking one though. 04/Jun/13 12:24 AM |  |
I apparently am a pessimist. I think it's out of habit. I suppose it's better to look both ways before crossing a one-way street than to look one way before crossing a two-way street. 04/Jun/13 12:25 AM |  |
Happy Anniversary to HalT and St Barbara. Just for you two. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbH_sDyWZqo 04/Jun/13 12:31 AM |  |
I admit that I have not read in detail every post since Kathy hung up her wings but I don't think anyone else has claimed the puzzle posting position. If someone else wants to do it just let me know, I promise I won't be insulted. Disclaimer: I'll try and get things posted early but if the natives get restless I might have to wait until their lunchtime. 04/Jun/13 12:32 AM |  |
Thanks for reminding me DOrA, I had it in my head to remember. See how well that worked. 04/Jun/13 12:33 AM |  |
Happy Anniversary HalT and Barbara. 04/Jun/13 12:35 AM |  |
Good morning. Kayo - Interesting fact about Portland. I hadn't heard that. Serena, I shall try to check back in and look for your puzzle. Now, I'm off to grab a cup of coffee and settle down to do the easy and medium puzzles. I usually save the hard one for later in the day when I have a little more time. 04/Jun/13 12:37 AM |  |
You are on your way to visit your Grandma, who lives at the end of the valley. It's her birthday, and you want to give her the cakes you've made. Between your house and her house, you have to cross 7 bridges, and as it goes in the land of make believe, there is a troll under every bridge! More... 04/Jun/13 12:39 AM |  |
You sure do know when a cat is angry. 04/Jun/13 12:40 AM |  |

Reading about Eugene, OR having the first one-way street system reminded me that Michigan was an innovator in road construction. (Probably had something to do with Henry Ford's booming automotive industry in the state.)~ Detroit, Michigan had the nation's first mile of concrete highway. More... 04/Jun/13 1:20 AM |  |
