98% humidity today.
(Sure beats too dry, but not too pleasant, either.)

Happy Wednesday day off!
Having lunch with Mom and her best friend from Jr High days (they are in their 80's now)
It's so fun to watch them together, chatting like, well, schoolgirls...

Aileen - It sounds like fun. Have a great lunch!

Good Maen, good people. I figure if we do not have flowers at the wedding (yet ) at least I shall have them here during the wedding planning!

Aileen - I remember my aged grandmother and great aunt dancing around the dining room table, trying to remember how to do the "Charleston." One of the BEST-EST memories of my life!!! We all laughed so hard, the grand-dames most of all.

It is so hot and sticky here. Took Steve and his mate and wife for lunch today, to celebrate Steves birthday, the 100th anniversary of my mothers birth and Alans 70th which is at the weekend.
Ate well, washed it all down with some delicious local red 'grape juice'.
Now trying to cool off, I feel as if I have just had a hot shower and haven't dried off.

I'm not necessarily recommending this, but just before my daughter was born, I took the wife for a ride in my Hard-sprung MG sports car. It was not easy getting he in and out of that little car, but the bumps must have done the trick. Daughter was born within 12 hours.

I sure wish I still had that old '54 MG now. (not that I'm making any more babies, but it was fun to drive)

Ian, I know if you were here you would probably be looking for your long johns - It was 58° F (14° C) when I got up at 0700. (Good sleeping btw) We are supposed to get up to around 80° F (27° C), today.

When I had my son and he seemed to be taking forever the nurses sent me, with a porter, to walk down 3 flights of stairs to xray and back. The stoppages for contractions on the way back got more and more frequent and he was lucky not to be born halfway up the top flight.

We went for a "wagon" ride Saturday at a fair provided by a "John Deere" dealership. It was hot, but fun. Angi has been doing a lot of walking in the past week......the Mall, Farmers Market, Metro Park, etc.

My husband has an old MG in the barn he has been meaning to restore for over 25 years. Now that the kids are grown, he can get to it one of these days.

I learned to drive in a Model "T". My first car was a Dodge that would sometime shift itself from low to high. Yes, they made it that way on purpose.

Overcast here, after a brief drizzle last night--nice to get a small break from the oppressive heat. Cats are happier too.
