My friend was planning to get a Labrador.

Hasn’t he seen how many of their owners go blind?!”

Morning. I've been wearing a CPap mask for sleep apnia for about a year now. Our power outage meant I couldn't wear it for 4 nights straight. It is supposed to make you sleep more soundly, deeper, and be in REM sleep for much longer periods, therefore feeling much more rested. My break showed none More...

Ummm, Keith? What does your wife say about your sleep? Is it quiet or are you still snoring? Also do you stop breathing while asleep? Only your wife will be able to tell. Better consult with her before you do any changes.

Thank you for all the warm 'welcome back's'. For those who don't know, I have moved AGAIN!!!! I am now in Taos, New Mexico. Living in an earthship. Looking for someplace that is NOT an earthship. Still working as a PA.

On the subject of shingles shots, I got mine. The two shot regimen. Insurance would not cover the single shot until I turned 60. Now, the two shot is covered at age 50. The one shot was only about 55% effective, the two shot is 95%. And yes, I got it!

Thx for the questions, shosho. Lynne confirms that I don't snore, and she's never heard me stop breathing. I went through the ''Sleep Center'' overnight test. With all those wires hooked up to me, I don't think I was ever able to go to sleep, but they claimed the test showed I had sleep apnia. I'm More...

I think today, companies are more interested in making a dollar than providing the service they were set up to do. Democracy is dying while capitalism is thriving......but come the revolution???

I am also going to a Melbourne Cup lunch - the first time in over 40 years!! Not really my cup of tea as I don't see the point in whipping a horse for 2 kilometres

Keith I also have a CPAP machine. Linda doesn't like it because it keeps her awake. I haven't worn it now for about 10 months and I don't feel any different whether wearing it or not. I must admit that I stopped snoring when I lost weight but now I've put a bit back on I apparently snore intermittently. Like you I am not convinced of its value.

An Australian horse Vow and Declare has won the Melbourne, the first Australian horse has won for many years. The crowd are delighted, the jockey, the trainer and the owners are ecstatic. Add that to Ashley Barty and that helps to make up for the Wallabies poor performance and the equally poor performance by the Kangaroos against Samoa.

And I'm delighted too Wombat. I had $5 each way on Vow and Declare. Wooooohoooo!

You would have done quite well out of that peter, it paid a reasonable dividend. I would not have thought you were a betting man Peter, but then if you are prepared to go to sea in a sardine can, then you must be a risk taker,

The house in Ballarat is so like my cousin's house in Mount Pleasant Road in Ballarat that you would have difficulty telling them apart. It is in a very salubrious part of Ballarat. His family on his mother's side had been early settlers in Ballarat, his mother's, mother's, mother had owned the London Coffee Shop where the Ballarat Town Hall now stands, so a long history there.

Someone please explain Peter's bet - what does 'each way' mean? The horses run just one way.

I think Sarah it means that half the amount wagered goes towards the winning odds (i.e. $2 bet at odds of 20 to 1 wins half $1 x 20 = $20 won.). The other half, i.e. $1 goes to a proportion of the odds but I don't know what that proportion is when a horse wins. Does that clarify or have I totally confused you?
