I have had such an exciting afternoon. As my wrist is still painful I have spent the time pricking out tiny seedlings. Now I remember why I used to ut plants and not sow seeds...forget the cost... that was the most tedious couple of hours. Roll on the feast tomorrow. No work just eat, drink and play, all day

I drove into our local town yesterday through the back roads and villages. I am so glad I did. The orchards are like low clouds of white blossom and the roadside banks are a mass of yellow cowslips. Last week I commented to a friend how bare the trees still seemed but now they have that pale green halo around their branches promising more to come. I have Lily of the Valley in flower in my garden even though they are not usually around for another month.

Going to another auction today, at least to see what they have. I do like looking through all the junk some have, just have to remember I have enough of my own junk.

Mo, I also love taking the back roads, there is so much more to see or maybe I just don't go as fast so I see more.

I go to a lot of sales and am amazed at what people have to sell - how did they let it in their house in the first place? But... I am even more surprised at what people buy!
A couple of weeks ago I saw 2 people almost fighting over a 'crocheted and knitted brightly coloured spanish lady toilet roll cover'!(complete with roll or I wouldn't have known.

Ladies, you are more than welcomed to come go through my house. I really have no idea where this stuff came from.

GannieMo, what a beautiful description of the colors of Spring. It is a lovely time here in California, too. The hillsides and meadows are a beautiful shade of green with wildflowers scattered throughout. Most of the year, the grass has dried and turned yellowish brown. This is such a pleasant change from that.

Thank you so much for all the well wishes on our departure. If only everybody that wanted to come along really could. That would make the trip so much more fun. I can just picture this suitcase shuffling along with little legs sticking out the bottom and long reddish black hair trailing behind, bumping into pillars along the way. Too funny.

I now have that vision, Keith, only the case that I envisage has little balloons coming from it containing many asteriscs as it strikes various obstructions.
