Good Maen again, good people. Hi, HalT in the #1 spot. Woo-hoo, Sheila.

My question: Do I find new places for things in my new kitchen or keep things where they were before? (The layout is relatively the same.)

Phase III is wood floors in two more rooms. Should be a bit easier reno.

Sheila... I'm guilty of changing things around in my kitchen cupboards. Every time my adult children visit they complain that they can't find anything... *LOL* I just constantly find new and better configurations for my pantry and cupboards

Welcome back Shiela! Haven't seen you welcome the day for quite a long time... maybe you had mentioned a planned departure while some work was to be done & I missed it. Nice to 'see' you today!

Similar behavior for me Chayote - it depends upon the season & what items I find I'm using more frequently; you'll make new choices I'll bet Shiela as you begin, especially since you haven't even touched these things in a few months...

Able to make French toast this morning, got three lesson plans done on my online course. Dressage is on TV this afternoon for the Olympics and my son said he'll take me to the library to pick up some DVDs. Life is getting busy in my little world

I hate being sick - even with just a cold.

Think I'll just go and sip my cup of tea, then see if I can get back to sleep.

Happy Saturday!
CP: I'm at the tail end (I hope!) of a summer cold, too. I don't get sick often, so this is especially irksome

I've decided to look at everything very critically when putting things back into the new kitchen. We've been in this house for almost 28 years and some things are much older, since we've been married 47 years. Good time to shake things up a bit?

Summer colds are the worst. Hope things go quickly for you both, Aileen & CP!

My 5 year-old grand-twin who had his tonsils out a week ago spent the night in emergency on Wednesday night due to bleeding. Happened while he was sleeping. Mom heard him crying and when she checked in on him she heard a gurgling sound. Off to the emergency at 3 AM. Poor lil' thing!

I found this, today while ''surfing''...

Aussie-isms - 23 of them...........

http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/real-life/23-expressions-youll-never-hear-an-ame rican-say/news-story/2ff9d896611757e8e97b53d2e555139e

They might help some of us 'outsiders' to understand what our hosts are saying.

Shiela, moving things to a new place is only fun for the one moving them. As long as your memory is still good, you can at least tell people where things are. Not such a good idea as you get older.

Space in ame rican.

Beautiful orchid. I love them....but, in my family, I am known as the ''Orchidinator''. Like a terminator, but, more specific.
Our friend, Fiona, once gave me detailed instructions on how to care for these lovely plants. She is an expert. She said I could not fail. I proved her wrong.
