Good Maen, good people!

My sister asked if I could stay one more day in London on my return as friends wanted to lunch. I checked my e-ticket for my ferry from France to UK and return and I had booked different dates to those I thought I had. Hope I don't forget where I am going once I hit the road

Hi Plum

 |  |

Hi, GMo, I just told you at the end of yesterday that I like seeing your penguin avatar again.

Sounds like you need to write out a day by day itinerary and keep it in your hat.

The puzzle photo makes me want a sense of scale. I suspect it's a tall figurine, but can't figure out the size. I do like it, though.

HI all! Tons of correct answers for yesterday's puzzle. Most people got most of the answers, so we'll just say everyone did! Well done to Dotcom, Judy, Glenn, Mo, Eve, Shannon, Greg, Kathy, the lurker, Keith, Plum, Sarah (today's birthday girl!!)and last, literally, but not least, Phantom. The answers were as follows: u, nu, nut, tuna, aunts, unseat, nutcase, centaurs, stauncher, raunchiest.

I managed to get bumped off the site again yesterday! At least this time I managed to work out why. It seems you can't say the word ****!!! You know the one? No, me neither!

Sorry, Mo, but I'm not going to do a Plum & Mo show today.

I have several deadlines and Little Plum is already busy working away on percentages and needs help making all parts equal 100.

I have 4 people to celebrate birthdays with/for this weekend and only have balloons so More...

Oh, excuse me Fiona. You snuck in while I was going on and on about what I need to do today. Sometimes it just helps to write it all down.
08/Oct/10 12:18 AM
 |  |

Fiona, Maybe the site can sense you're scared of it now?
08/Oct/10 12:20 AM
 |  |

It starts with the 16th letter of the alphabet, then goes to the 15th, on to the 18th, ending with the 14th. You may wonder just why I wanted to use this word...then again you may not.

Good morning ladies.

On to the puzzle for today - answers to the 'dirty movie' inbox please!

It's true I bring serenity,
And hang around the stars,
But yet I live in misery,
You'll find me behind bars.
With thieves and villains I consort,
In prison I'll be found,
But I would never go to court,
Unless there's more than one.

Have you e-mailed Gath and asked. We could all ask. Maybe the word can be used if he gets 20 e-mails.
08/Oct/10 12:24 AM

Dorthea, I'm not sure it's a word that 20 people would want to use very often!!

That salt box does not look safe.

Me I like strange words, but as I can't spell, I don't write them.
08/Oct/10 12:33 AM
 |  |

What is a salt box?
08/Oct/10 12:41 AM

Good grief, Fiona! After your count-by-number description of the banned word, people all over the World are either singing the alphabet song or counting letters on their fingers!
08/Oct/10 12:45 AM
 |  |

"A saltbox is a building with a long, pitched roof that slopes down to the back, generally a wooden frame house. A saltbox has just one story in the back and two stories in the front."

From Wikipedia.

Rayray The salt box house is popular in the New England States. It's tall and narrow, so it will fit on small pieces of rocky land. That one looks like their is no foundation. A strong wind and good bye house.

Today I had to put my 16 year old cat Tuxedo to sleep. May he rest in peace.
08/Oct/10 12:53 AM
 |  |

Well is the slope is right, then a salt box only has one story is back, but often they are just two stories. Land was really rocky. Well it still is.

Oh Sheila I think I cried more for my cat of 19 years than I did for my sister of 69 years.

RIP Tuxedo - and hugs to you, Shiela. Always so hard to lose a beloved family member.
Good Maen folks...
Judy - I was one of those singing the alphabet :0)

Losing a pet is always difficult, Shiela. May Tuxedo rest in peace. ‚ô•Jane

And good Maen, world! We're finally getting some lovely cool weather! I am really and truly a summer person. I love the heat! But after this particularly hot and humid summer, I am ready for the fall!

Cyber hugs to Shiela for the lose of your friend and to Jane, because you seem to need it. Though you sound great.

I sang and counted and now the alphabet song will not get out of my head.
08/Oct/10 1:19 AM
 |  |

Of course it was all Shannon's fault.
08/Oct/10 1:20 AM
 |  |

When I was banned from the site, I did not check. Though the word used was also the one Fiona used, it not only knocked me off when talking to Shannon, but others, who I cannot recall using the same word with the others or why I would have used it.

I agree Fiona.

Shiela: Sorry for your sad news about Tuxedo.

Trying not to sing the Alphabet song (out loud, at least!)...
08/Oct/10 1:23 AM

Anyway, it sort of scuppers any idea of having a debate on THAT subject!!
08/Oct/10 1:23 AM
 |  |

Too late Aileen, it is in the head and now Thing II is singing it as well. Or at least I think that is what she is singing. Really, need to work on that girl's English.

Re our debate the other day about travel warnings - France has just recommended extreme care when visiting Britain!! This is getting silly. We'll be told to stay indoors soon.

Hehehe, you have started some discussions this week Fiona. What on Earth could our opinions be about that subject.
Unless, you are going to tell your personal tales.
