I just enjoyed my first Tim Tam Slam! Glorious! Almost better than you-know-what! Sorry, Oreos ... I knew ye well ... but I have now forsaken thee ...

There is nothing as cheerful or practical as a brightly colored baby sling. I know moms who have wardrobes of them.

Judy - I had my first Tim Tam in December. Also my last!!! It seems our local supermarket only stocked them for the holidays!!! Of course, it's probably just as well since I am making a gargantuan effort to lose weight.

Fiona, Kathy had asked me to cover the weekend riddles for her, but I have been hit and miss on the site in the last few weeks, so I didn't post any as I wasn't sure I could monitor the answers. My apologies to all.

Today's riddle.... well, I believe I have figured out four words from the first read, so I'll answer shortly.

Once again, The Washington Post has published the winning submissions to its yearly neologism contest, in which readers are asked to supply alternative meanings for common words. The winners are:
1. Coffee (n.), the person upon whom one coughs.
2. Flabbergasted (adj.), appalled over how much More...

What a day!
The poor fridge has been deemed terminal so I am now in touch with the 'replacemen team' who will provide me with a new one under extended guarantee. Meanwhile my washbasin has severely cracked (age) and the taps have siezed up. I ordered replacements for them 3 More...

Rayray, your tales of woe bring back dreadful reminders of our kitchen reno. I think we should both open a bottle of wine with dinner tonight!
Arthur is back from the vet's, and once again, we're in charge of administering subcutaneous fluids. Geez.

Rayray - Sorry you're having kitchen problems, but what a wonderful excuse to dine out!!!

Great positive attitude, Jane. There's always a silver lining ... you just have to know where to look for it. Rayray, may you be able to solve the whole mess with minimum hassle ... except, of course, all that you've already endured.

Poor Rayray. What a kitchen nightmare! I'll cross my fingers that the stove stays alive. I think you've exceeded your allotment of troubles.

LOL - have you noticed that we are all surprised when we have a streak of breakdowns? Of course, it shouldn't, since all of the objects are usually of the same vintage (e.g., kitchen appliances that were installed when the place was built). Somehow, it still just doesn't seem to be "fair." Having suffered such before, my laugh is of the funny 'peculiar' type, not funny 'ha-ha.'

I had to feed the brain before it would work, finally got No1 of Fiona's puzzle.

Poor Rayray! Sorry about your fridge, but your whole kitchen is indeed terminal if all that is happening! Better go out to eat!

Spent a loverly day downtown review new teachers' portfolio, trying to help them get their first cleared credential. Finally my eyes have gone back to their regular positions! My first one had the name of Led. After looking at his half done work, I had the greatest problem keeping my mouth from saying, "Get the lead out of your behind and get going on this!"

My second dear barely could let go of hers, and had lovely eyes which kept looking at me with the deer in the headlight look. I realized that when she said she hadn't got much done, she was being truthful!

Imagine a whole day of this. Argh, I felt I was back in my third grade class. I'm being mean - I'm not letting four boys have recess until I get their science essays! They were due last month!

Enough grumbling! Finally I get a day off from the unmentionable room (which our missing Texan gal used to avoid!). Tomorrow, will eat at Il Fornaio with son and wife. It's the first time I ever made reservations on-line. We'll see how that works!
