Kristy B.... It could be 2 female Mallards, or it could be a pair of Black Ducks (why they were named that I don't know... they're not black.) Or it could be an Aussie species I'm not familiar with. If Ian would tell us where it was taken, that might help.

maen all! must be aussie or black mallards...the american mallards have yellowish bills where as the blacks have olive ones.

This d*mned photo has returned to haunt me. It is not one of my better photos and I have uploaded more than 50 others in the past year but they seem to have gone poof and disappeared into cyberspace while this one reappears regularly - and Heidi picks on me everytime. (Just kidding)

Ian... if these are Black Ducks, they are probably male and female. They are VERY hard to tell apart.
