Lots of decking there - must be visited by a lot of folks.

I looked it up ... it is a replica. The original stood by itself in a deep part of Croatan Sound. The light was decommissioned, so people decided to move it and keep it as a historical landmark (marshmark?), but it was lost into the sound. So this replica was made where people could visit.

On the California coast, all of the lower levels of piers like this one are inhabited by seals and sea lions! They are huge, brazen, and noisy ... and a lot of fun to observe!

There was a huge colony of sea lions in San Francisco Bay right next to Pier 39, a major tourist attraction. Just recently, most of them migrated south. Just a few ramain.

I was amazed at how many lighthouses there were along the coast of Maine.
