Oops, I meant artificial. I am so lost without spell check! Or maybe just getting lazy. Everyone is right Ian, this is another superb picture. Thank you as always for sharing your talent and memories with all of us.

Take care all,
Aimee :-)

Ian, you find the most incredible places and things to photograph. And you do it with so much skill and artistic ability. Truly a Renaissance man.

Are those things with the crest (?) on them some kind of shields for the windows? Looks like they're on hinges and could have been used to protect the inhabitants from stray arrows a few centuries back. Sorry, it's just my imagination taking a few leaps :-)

Maybe rather than arrow-deflectors for the windows, Jyrki, those are sun screens. Oh, wait ... no need ... this is Europe!

Beautiful shot, Ian.

Ame, there is a moat around the Castle.
Greg, it is now used to house the Dutch MBA course and the facilities for students and staff. There are, I understand, other buildings in the grounds which are also used for training MBA students. The course is conducted in English and has a high reputation among the MBA colleges of the world.

A Dutch castle in Holland, whoever would have guessed!! Maybe the shutters and the moat are to keep the MBA students in!
