One of the things we really enjoyed about the British Isles were the interesting signs that hung outside of many establishments. 04/Aug/08 12:44 AM |  |
Beautiful sign, Ian - did you stay at this inn? 04/Aug/08 12:56 AM |  |
6:55 Ian, Nice exposure for the sign detail. I like in the carving how the swan's feet and legs can be seen in the shallow waters. 04/Aug/08 1:23 AM |  |
2:52 Maen! Like Plum said... I would think that photo would be hard to get right to see all the detail. Nice job! 04/Aug/08 2:14 AM |  |
 5:35 Hi to all. 04/Aug/08 2:39 AM |  |
I could stop in for a bite of lunch -- I did have scones for breakfast - it is a nice sign 04/Aug/08 2:40 AM |  |
 What a great sign! 04/Aug/08 4:52 AM |  |
Good afternoon to all! During one stop over a chum and I made in London, we bought a pub guide, umbrellas and a bus pass, and then proceeded for two days to visit as many London pubs as possible. Towards the end of each day, I'm not sure if we remembered which pub we were in, but it was a riot and we met many great folks! 04/Aug/08 4:59 AM |  |
maen all! the swans were extinct in the hudson valley since the 1920's. in the late '60's a lady who owned and lived in a lighthouse brought two mating pairs from canada to saugertes,ny and now they are so abundant that they've been considered nuisances much like the reviled canada goose. 04/Aug/08 5:25 AM |  |
Greg, once, in my youth, a mate and I had a beer in every pub in Darwin. I don't remember much about it either - except that we laughed a lot. Yours was the greater challenge though. 04/Aug/08 5:41 AM |  |
Sounds great! The pubs in England are really fun! 04/Aug/08 6:22 AM |  |
When we were traveling through Scotland we came across a little pub out of town all by its self called in for a drink and the barmaid was an Aussie can't get away from them. 04/Aug/08 10:45 AM |  |
On our up coming trip, we will be staying in a lot of outback pubs, but only one for each night!!BTW Great pic Ian!! 04/Aug/08 12:26 PM |  |
