I'm interested to see the reasons people think the number of posts are dropping off, and they certainly dropping off. Looking at the numbers to day we might not get to 22.

I haven't been here quite from the beginning, but I believe Gath created the site during the time that Sudoku first became popular. Many people came to the site daily then, and he had enough advertisers to make it worthwhile. Not enough people frequent the site now to attract much advertising, so More...

Hi Keith, I fully understand your comment. No doubt other sites have attracted Sudoku members which is a pity. Unfortunately this could become a self fulfilling prophecy as if the service deteriorates so will the number of people leaving increase proportionately. Perhaps More...

Arachnid - I actually sent an e'mail to Gath the other week about the easy jigsaw and I didn't receive a reply, which was most unusual for Gath. It also hasn't been fixed, as we know.

Unfortunately that cute little cat will eventually decimate all the local birdlife and other small mammals. It should be caught and disposed of humanely.

Aussie, I was going to suggest the opposite. The cat looks adorable and adoptable, and if fed regularly and properly cared for would not be such a risk to wildlife, especially if belled. I have known feral cats who adapted well to (human) family life.

As for fewer comments each day, I am not sure we need to go back to the Karen days. Although I loved reading seemingly every detail of her life, one phrase at a time, I enjoy the site just as much with fewer comments and fewer commenters.

aussie, I have 2 cats and rarely do they catch a bird, perhaps 2 a year between them. On the other hand little furry rodents are to be had 2/3 times a week. If not for the cats I think we woud be over run. Well fed cats cannot leap too high and birds see them coming.

We even got to 33 Wombat.

Properly cared for cats do not decimate bird life and small mammals, Aussie. I agree with Sarah's comment.
