OK - This is a great quote, well worth remembering, but it is NOT one you can honestly attribute to Abraham Lincoln:
'It's a damned fool who believes everything he reads on the internet.'

Has anyone enjoyed the youtube song links I posted early on page 1? 'Flash, bam, alakazam, wonderful you came by' 'Yes, we have no bananas, we have no bananas today' 'When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie, that's amore' 'Love and marriage go together like a horse and carriage.' Bring on the smiles.

Was that Captain Kirk or Chief Engineer McCoy that said that?

Ha, JEB. You must not be a Trekkie. William Shatner played Captain Kirk. (James Doohan played Chief Engineer Scott and DeForest Kelley played Doctor McCoy.)

Plum, that was Scotty in the episode 'Friday's Child' in an exchange with Chekov. Kirk was with the landing party leaving Scotty in command. And yes, I'm a bit of a Trekkie and still record and watch re-runs. My first exposure to Star Trek was on shore leave in Sydney back in Jan '69. The Aussies I heard from were going nuts over Spock, they just loved him.

In that first post I meant Scotty instead of 'Bones' McCoy.

So close to us scoring a century, so I'll just wander on in the hope that someone joins me. I guess most of the North Americans are in bed by now, although Jeb was about a few minutes ago.

It is probably up to us Antipodeans to make it to three figures, or even a third page.

No help is forthcoming from anywhere in the world, so I'll probably have to go it alone.

JEB - my first exposure to Star Trek was nearly two years later. My 4th grade teacher was suggesting it as a show that might interest a couple boys and the description intrigued me.

I went home, took control of the TV set and watched 'Devil in the Dark' with the incomparable 'NO KILL I.' More...
