- not a cloud in a beautiful blue sky - view out the front like the avatar, except snow line lower on McLaughlin. Lilac in bloom along with other flowering trees & shrubs. The softness of Spring in all its glory. Should reach 70° today - morning was in the 40's. Love it, Love it.

I'm trying to decide where to go to use my miles. Considering Australia with So. NZ, Rome (Vatican/Pompei/etc.) + ? (Maybe Israel), or Norway (with my cousin). Any suggestions.

Best months of the year (Spring/Fall - Summer for Norway ?), must sees - off the beaten path excursions or More...

OK. It is warm again today. Brother and I were headed to Salina before I took him to Wichita for the plane. Had just lotioned my hands and was putting on my lipgloss when my brother pointed out we had visitors. 5 calves on the patio. He helped me get them back ito the corall, I discovered More...

Eve, I vote for Australia! Knowing who-all is there, how could you not? Before hubby retired, we stayed in Sydney for a week and took day trips. Then flew to NZ (where he had two weeks of business conferences in Auckland). I had a great time traveling around during the day while he More...

Eve - Jaime and I have taken a lot of Eurail trips. On particularly long trips, we would also rent cars when we wanted to visit places off the beaten path. Because I love Paris, whenever we had business in Europe, I would book our flights from the States in and out of Paris and then worry about More...

Eve, I vote Australia too!

Jim/Jupiter, that is very depressing information. Is there any process in motion to try and 'fix' the situation?

Had even managed to negotiate being paid for the hour I would be late (since I am putting in 4 hours unpaid this week) - hmmph!

Oh well, I'll live. See you later.

Karen... I was driven to the doctor's but was given the ok to drive, so I drove home!!! First time behind the wheel in over six weeks. Did not realize how much I'd missed it. (Did not get a speeding ticket either)
Still not cleared for any other activities yet tho. maybe after the next checkup in mid June.

Eve, New Zealand is great and Hong Kong/China are exceptional. Most of Asia is very good and safe for women. Public transport is state of the art and reliable.Another plus is the exchange rate is excellent. You will love Australia but unfortunately for you the exchange rate is lousy at the moment.

Speaking of exorbitant travel expenses, a friend who is currently in France sent us an e-mail yesterday saying that a cheeseburger was 29 Euros! I don't know what kind of restaurant he's talking about, but he was in Normandy. Today he's in Paris, and I'm curious to find out how pricy Paris currently is.

Off to a concert and, if the village coffee shop is open afterwards, Jaime and I will share a piece of limoncello torte.

Great news, Captain J.
I move a lot when I am driving and spend a great deal of the time looking in the back seat. I know most people just look straight ahead and use mirrors.

Ok one day of testing done (California Standards Test) CST and five more to go. Ever try to get 9 years olds to be quiet for the ones not done? An hour and half of straight testing, today on language arts, is enough to send anyone a case of squiggles!

Hey Queen Anne! Hi Rola and Heidi! Heidi, how's my kiddies' calf, Park Western doing? We have her picture posted on our class bulletin board. Maybe I should get the kids to write her a letter. It is a third grade standard.

The only occasion I've had being near those big beasties was on the ocean side of the isthmus of Catalina Island. We were anchored over night and in the morning, me without my glasses, exclaimed, "Wow there's cows all over the hillside. But their heads are awfully big!" My son, quite embarrassed, in a loud stage whisper, "Mom, be quiet! They're not cows. Buffaloes, Mom!"

Rola, you're right! Younger son will be on US soil on this Thursday!!! He wasn't too happy being stuck on a ship all this time. But I was grateful, ground forces weren't called for in Libya! Woohoo!!!
