Serena, I received a lovely letter in the mail yesterday. I have it hanging on my fridge door with a magnet from Texas my daughter brought home for me.

Wow. What's with that page of bull Rage posted?
11/Aug/17 9:16 AM

It's appropriate for Rage from the Mallee to choose a bull as his/her avatar. In Australian slang it is common to preface Mallee Bull with strong, mad, tough. I hope I haven't enraged this particular Mallee Bull.

What sort of Mallee Bull is it? Texas Longhorn. Actually, at the risk of enraging this Mallee Bull, or one of its relatives, it looks rather like a Water Buffalo, the most dangerous animal in South Africa, in terms of killer of people, that is of course excluding the people themselves.

Lizzy G, Tara doesn't mind the water. She used to be scared of it but after seeing other dogs, especially retrievers and labs, enjoying themselves she often joins in. However, never to the point where she has to swim.

Rage's avatar could also be Aurochs the Bull.

The Brit submarine HMS/M Aurochs' motto was 'Excreta tauri sapientam fulgeat'.

ECCO poozle solvers were Wombat, Amelia, Rage, Judy and Joyce......well done you lot.

Reminded of the TV programme 'A River Somewhere' - Judy would have liked that. All about fishing.

Until next week......

...since I never heard of that TV program, this is what I learned: The light-hearted adventures of comedians Rob Sitch and Tom Gleisner as they travel the globe to indulge in their passion for fly-fishing.

...then it reminded me of the movie, 'A River Runs Through It' - also about fly-fishing but with a more serious theme - how the men's love of fly-fishing for trout in the Blackfoot River of Montana impacted their lives....

There is a bull type creature in Greek mythology called the Minotaur. It guarded a maze. There was a Minoan Civilisation particularly on the Island of Crete. Taur is bull in Greek, and hence we have Mino's bull or minotaur. Like most Greek Mythology it is taur excreta, Peter.

That's all a bit of a distraction, but there is an interesting group of Minoan relics near Heraklion, well worth visiting when you are on your Mediterranian cruise.

It is a crucial game tonight and the Doggies are not favourites, but then that didn't stop them last year. The Cats will be under pressure too. A least one of the teams north of the border must win (Lions vs Suns), but I hope that's all.

You might recall that I had to use h*m*nym in a puzzle, because the site rejected the first syllable of the word I wanted to use. I'll send this now, and then send the prohibited word. If it doesn't appear in the next message, then it is still banned.

Uboat is a homonym for submarine.

There, the site is updated, at least for spell check.
That's a CP, and I'll leave it to others to get Peter to 66.

Drawing a long bow there Wombat.
11/Aug/17 6:15 PM

Bow - What the Japanese do.
Bow - Front of a ship.
Bow - tied ribbon
Bow - Long bow, cross bow

How's that?

Clickety- click.

Not a homonym!

Peter, stretching a bit there is the bow-wow of a dog and a tree bough which may or may not support a baby cradle. Then there is the bower, an appellation for a rustic or shady or lady's retreat, and the Bowery of NYC fame (or infamy?). None are homonyms.

I wouldn't mind a nap. I haven't had my yerba mate yet this morning. I didn't start the kettle soon enough so I put it in a thermos to go and it's still too hot to drink.

Well, this cp puts us within striking distance of page 3 if a couple of adventuous souls showed up to spin their own cps. Speaking of cps and naps, I'll betcha CP could use a nap right now, even though it's midday where she is.
