Welcome to Shiela from MI!

Happy Birthday, Maureen M from Melbourne!

Thanks for all your efforts and the update, Gath!

for everyone!

I am really glad we have heard from Gath. I have already re-posted upgrades of what had been lost. Thus, it's a pity the restoration that might happen does not ADD to what we have, rather than replace what we have done since the crash. However it will be great when Gath manages to stabilise More...

Thanks for the update, Gath. Good to know.

Angela, I was able to go watch the video. What an experience. Glad you're ok.

Angela ... what a scary thing to go through. Because the crime scene is so large, the police are probably still out there trying to sort things out. They just cannot make any statements until the investigation is done. And sometimes that seems like a cover-up. The problem is, the news media is More...

Kathy: Do you think that Sudokuland should have a flag - and also a 'national anthem'? I shall try to write the words and think up an appropriate tune. However someone else would have to do any recording. I am not well equipped for that.

Good afternoon to all! "Well folks, we've managed to print the right elbow, left armpit, right knee, left ear lobe and the right foot. Is that sufficient?"

Angela, saw your Dallas newscast through the link. Scary stuff. I am glad no innocent bystanders, you and your son included, were not hurt. However, now that you have had your video screen test, on what TV series can we expect to see you? Glad you stayed safe!

Thanks to all who wished me happy birthday last sunday. I was not happy with no sudoku, and on my b-day.....bad timing! But thanks to all the well-wishers. Haven't commented in a long time. Busy with new job. Cp, got your package. Nice surprise! You are too cool! check out new pics on my page.

Angela - I know it must have been a terrible night last night, but it was great fun seeing you 'for real' in the video! Always nice to put a face to a name!

Rayray, just my thoughts, but Gath is already working hard enough. If we lose stuff, c'est la vie! It is just nice to have the site up and running after all the problems Gath has had with his last FOUR service providers. Oh, and we don't need a "national" anthem, we need an "international" anthem! Cheers!

Angela, I am so glad to read that you and your son are OK. I went to the video link you provided. The video played, but I was unable to get the audio, so I'm glad that others have commented. I hope all is well!

Canuk Greg:
I agree with you about the "international anthem' rather than the 'national' one. That's an excellent idea. There is not hurry about this. It is an idea for the future to be sounded out while the mental iron is hot.

Tricia, what is a 'charter school'? Don't know (or am ignorant of) the term here in Canada.

thank you. as difficult as it is adjusting to all the newness, it truly is a Godsend.

Well, basically its a school for students who are kicked out of regular public school. Most students are difficult, sometimes downright scary. Class sizes are small though, which helps.

Whoa, Greg and Tricia ... that's a vastly different definition of a Charter School than is used here in California. We call those schools "Opportunity" or "At Risk." A Charter School here is made up of groups of parents, and sponsored by local school districts, who want to More...

I don't understand how it works yet, but I know it is publicly funded by attendance, ie, the state gives a certain amount for each student for each day they are there. So I don't make as much, had to get a second job on weekends to make ends meet, but I am close to home so I can take care of my son much better. He has me as his chauffeur, you know.

Well Judy and Trisha, by Trish's definition, that would be a 'special education' school here, and by your definition Judy, that would be a 'private school' here, that gets little government funding but promotes excellance.
13/Jan/08 11:52 AM
 |  |

Hey Judy, how are you. Yes, you are correct. Some charter schools in tx. are for the elite, or are like a magnet school with curricullum focusing in one area, like technology or science.

She told me we couldn't afford beer anymore and that I would have to quit.

Then I caught her spending $65 for makeup.

I asked her how come I had to give up stuff and she didn't.

She said she needed the makeup to look pretty for me.

I told her that was what the beer was for.

I don't think she's coming back.

Our school, Brazos River Charter School, serves about a five county area. Grades 9-12, which I am only certified to teach K-8, which I don't understand how they can do it, but am very glad they hired me.

Ben is playing basketball now. Doing great. thanks for asking. We are about to go to the cheap afternoon matinee to see National Treasure. so, good to talk to y'all. I'll try to be better about posting. Bye for now.

I agree with that too Jane.
Perhaps we need an 'international national anthem'.
Sounds paradoxical and oxymoronish, but we are unique, proud, and virtual entity.
