For those who know Canberra, the wedding is at Lanyon Homestead at 3. It is a glorious day here.

Woohoo - did that without even trying.

Lanyon is one of the original homesteads in Canberra - fully restored, with beautiful gardens.

CP - so, your nephew is Goth?

Ian - Got to agree there. Every day that I wake up is going to be a good one.

Danstell - at some risk, I've got to ask: What the heck is a 'walse'?
13/Jan/12 10:55 AM
 |  |

I translated it to "waltz" since Danstell was on a dancing theme.

Whew! No worries, Danstell. I thought I was missing something that I should have known about.
That wouldn't be a first, though.

Speaking of dancing, I was reading an article about cheek augmentation using fat tissue from the gluteus maximus area of the body.
Kinda gives a whole meaning to the phrase "dancing cheek to cheek" doesn't it??

Gives a whole 'new' meaning.

I have been trying to get here since 2pm! The interview went well. Since it was on Skype, I only had to "dress up" from the waist up. I answered their questions well, they answered my questions, and there seemed to be a rapport. The woman who set up the interview is supposed to call me on Monday.

It is good catching up with the old crew. I have a question. Who was the gentleman from Australia who went by one name, then revealed himself to be a decorated pilot and Australian hero? I miss beehive (but think he lurks) and some of the others who were on...gasp!...7 years ago when I first More...

Back to the discussion of the "old days" of Sudoku. I was once known as LP from Pioneer. Didn't post for a long time, as I was embarrassed over my slow times. I do remember the arrival of who I think was the first Sudoku baby. Was that Liam?

I wasn't here for the "Australian Hero" saga, but I have an idea who it might be.

I started posting in May of 2007. I'd been coming to the site for the puzzles for more than a year before that but never noticed that people were chatting. One of the people I miss the most from the "old days" is Jaffy from Manaus. Does anybody know what happened to him?

Wow, roll call of the missing! How about Livia from Texas, the author of mysteries (sort of like Agatha Christie's Miss Marple) I liked it because the sleuth was a retired teacher! And Tricia from Nemo, we set up pen pals between our students.

Oh, the best of luck to you, Sarah Beth!!! You and my DIL have been to one interview after another. Sarah Beth, you're the Jill of all trades! Anyone smart enough to hire you will be getting a gem!

Peter, I have found a new Australian slang dictionary:
"Bonza - excellent, attractive, pleasing"
I agree.
13/Jan/12 3:17 PM

If I understand correctly, 'bonza' is the feminine of 'bonzer'.
Hope I'm not being politically incorrect.

Hello there, I'm another one who hasn't posted much lately, although I do come here to read most days but find that I'm too late to join conversations and many of our overseas friends have retired for the night.

Also interested reading comments today about this site. When I joined in 2007, I had not looked below the puzzles each day & wasn't aware that people were making comments, until I think it was Gail suggested I join chat on easy page.
