mymare - sorry about the rainout. Why don't you console yourself & have a drink at home?
Sue - be careful you don't blow away!
André - I've enjoyed all your friend TFTD's this week Now be really careful on those stairs! You know it takes a long time for broken bones to heal - hic!

Good for the wee lad, Fiona! Does he get his athletic genes from you?
13/Apr/08 1:18 AM

Thank you Kathy.
Fiona what time are you phoning the girls? I have tried Mamacita once yesterday but just got her answer machine so I left a message. I'm trying early tonight before a dinner party so if we can phone almost together it would be good.

now Judy that is a daft question!! My wee lad is six and a half and has been doing judo since last october, without the slightest help from me!

Does this lad have a name? Crusher, perhaps?

André, had a texto from Mo this morning saying she didn't know what time they were meeting up yet! I also have a busy evening (yes, Judy, a busy Saturday night for once!) so hope they hurry up and text me, otherwise I'll be out.

I quite like 'crusher'!! Will try and post a photo of crusher Scott in the next day or so.

Fiona - I'm sure your "wee lad" is very proud & happy, too. That's wonderful! I think your whole family should go out & celebrate

ok André, if you can hold off the drink that long - I've got to get through a clarinet audition before heading off to a birthday party later! Won't manage a drink before....9 o'clock at least...groan!

Rob is up on a ladder cleaning out the gutters. Think I'd better go stand guard. And Judy, no smart cracks about gutters - I know you'll be tempted Have a great day everybody.

Even though you may be a clutz and devoid of musical talent, we know that you have other talents, Fiona ...
13/Apr/08 1:30 AM
 |  |

clutz???? now what sort of Americanism is that? will go see if Mr Collins has heard of it...
13/Apr/08 1:32 AM
 |  |

nope, not in Mr Collins, so not part of the English language! At least 'tootle' was in there!
13/Apr/08 1:33 AM
 |  |
Try "klutz," Fiona ... and it's Yiddish!

Does the British dictionary have like five words in it??
13/Apr/08 1:35 AM
 |  |

Fiona, save your wee lad's gold medal for him. When he's a teen ager it won't seem like much then but when he's married and with a son, the medal is a fond remembrance of first achievements! Even though my son when up the ranks in judo and went to many a meets, I saved that first medal because I was and still am a sentimental fool!
13/Apr/08 1:38 AM
 |  |

well howsabout spelling it properly then??? And it is not a 'British' dictionary; the language is English!!!!!! And I am not 'stupid and clumsy' BTW!!!(Mr C's definition, comes from 'clot' seemingly)
13/Apr/08 1:38 AM
 |  |

shosho, it's firmly round his neck at the moment and he'll probably be sleeping with it tonight...and tomorrow...
13/Apr/08 1:39 AM

makes me sound like thick Devon cream. Hmmm.
13/Apr/08 1:40 AM
 |  |

Ooooh, just read this page! Wee lad can save his own medal! My "wee lad" started when he was seven and stayed with judo until he was 18. Even now though in the Marines, there's something like it that he keeps up with.

Fiona, with a scone you'd be beautiful to me!

mAen all! a windy sunny day here with just a little rain when I took my 2 labs out for a walk. As they enjoy rain, they didn't even try to go faster!congrats to Scott, Fiona. Aren't they on holidays? I'll have my grand-daughter for a week tomorrow.

Eeeewww ... I think I'd rather be clumsy than a clot!

"Klutz" is used as a light and humorous insult in the U.S. ... nothing sinister about it.

So, what ARE your talents, dear Fiona!

we're the last ones to get our holidays this year Claude, another two weeks school still.

Back again after catching up on Friday and Saturday's posts. Thanks for nice wishes and food suggestions. Found it hard yesterday to eat much at all, just dry crackers at lunch and dinner, and lots of peppermint tea. A hot water bottle did help a lot in the evening.

Fiona, reread your post, first time I read it, I thought six and a half feet! Am I sleepy!!! Got an early wake up call, my brother frantic, couldn't find my father. He forgot he had planned to go to a funeral! Argh I'm going through it again!

I usually drink hot milk before bed, but didn't tonight. Have had one since I've been back up and it's gone down well, so I'm heading back to bed. Think it's the brat diet for me today after I get up - sounds like it might work, then chicken soup for tea!
13/Apr/08 1:49 AM

chicken soup for breakfast, dinner and tea, CP, washed down with coca cola; sounds awful, but it does the trick.

"culinary" not being an adjective to describe any of my talents, obviously!

all – as Dave said, a beautiful day here in So. Oregon. Pear Blossom Festival in full swing – in the 80’s yesterday – same for today. [First time this year we even hit 80 (30°c).] The strange thing is that this year the Pear Blossoms aren’t in blossom yet. Last year’s More...
