Just finishing a thunderstorm in Hobart. Nice summer's day here today. 26C. A friend cut down all of a neighbour's overhanging tree branches which were shading our flower gardens. Waiting for the neighbours to complain tomorrow.

Since I broke my duck I felt morally obliged to do the puzzle. It didn't improve my time though. Lokk like Valencias. Orande with that green tinge.

I didn't even consider lemons. I've never seen round lemons like that. Good night all. Hamilton 0 Rangers 0 at half time.
Australian Open starts Monday. Should be some good tennis. Federer or Nadal? Andy Roddick looks very relaxed with his family doing the rounds of tourist attractions.

I had this message today

WE, IN UK, ARE IN DEEP TROUBLE...

The population of this country is approximately 60 million.
32 million are retired.

That leaves 28 million to do the work.

There are 17 million in school or at Universities.

That leaves 11 More...

Oops, apologies - shouldn't have posted that joke. It was one of Vici's - I thought I'd received it from a non-sudoku friend. I try never to steal a fellow sudokuist's jokes.

2:36 Hi to all.

Thought for the Day:

It is the sweet, simple things of life which are the real ones after all.

I have eggs and rain, what shall I make?

Hello June and Steve long time no see, nice to see you posting. Are you cooking the omelette? Rain omelette? I've got three gallons of rain, some of which is now pouring through my lovely 'I've got a leak' flat roof! That would make a large pot of coffee also. Actually rain omelette and coffeeggs sounds exciting right now.

André, u still around?
17/Jan/10 2:10 AM
 |  |

André,
Just leave the eggs and the rain as they are.
If you make anything out of them they will no linger be simple things to make life enjoyable.

Only one correct answer for yesterday's puzzle (so far). I'll post it again in case you want to give it a try...

Reminds me of a situation in the Canary Island. An advert said - "buy a villa to be but in this beautiful valley" - [with picture of gorgeous tree-clad slopes with marvellous veiws]. First thing the developers did was to clear ALL the trees leaving horrible desert view.
[all subservient 'bs' should push ignore button - NOW!]
