2:17 and bed time! Morning all!
17/Jan/11 12:03 AM

We had the most beautiful sunrise this morning! It was a cream color at the horizon, next color was rose, then purple and finally indigo at the top. Nope! Didn't get my camera in time!

Good night, Jack!

Almost in the land of nod! Thanks Shiela.

Good Maen, all. Taking a week "vacation" about 40 miles from home. Thank goodness for internet access since the weather promises rain for several days, so.. it may be a puzzles, a fire in the fireplace, hot chocolate , and watching old movies with the gf.
Life is good.

I up for the sun cresting over the tree tops - jsut the yellows and lite blues here -- not quite SuperBowl Sunday here, but a do or die day for the Chicago Bears - off to a football party
17/Jan/11 12:31 AM
 |  |

Yes, I'll go for a walk with you Ms Emma - the Sun just came over the trees and it's bright and sunny - nice day for a walk outside
17/Jan/11 12:38 AM

Miss Emma is a sweetheart. Fluffy snow here, covering branches, wires, etc. Certainly looks beautiful.

Good Maen, good people. The tea party was wonderful.

The oven is heated up, must go ... bye. (This is almost like an in person social event where one says good-bye several times before finally heading out the door.)

Good Maen friends from Davis, CA - up before my friends and enjoying an early sudoku group!
Shiela - I'm sobbing too - wish you had a camera handy for that one.
Have a wonderful holiday, Captain!
GO BEARS!!!!

Yea! I found out for sure why a post from yesterday sometimes repeats to today! Now... how to stop it?
17/Jan/11 12:55 AM
 |  |

Mary - if Miss Emma isn't up for that walk in the fluffy snow, I'll certainly take you up on it...and you won't have to bring a poopy scooper!

Plum - glad the party was a success - any pics???

everyone. New photos of our Michigan/Wisconsin trip in September. (To see them in the order they were taken, start with the 12th one down [the one titled 'Weather vane'], and use the 'Next photo' option.)

I don't know. We were all so wrapped up in conversation and tea cakes that I didn't take photos myself. Faun took photos during set up, but they were artsy closeups of the lovely food and settings. I'll have to see if anyone took pictures.

Today's Hard photo caption left me wondering:
Why is an especially suited place to stop and take a look called an 'overlook' when it's made to look over something you don't want to overlook?
17/Jan/11 1:54 AM
 |  |

Good morning all. It's 7am here and I'm still sore from the hour swimming yesterday. Lucky for me it was a heated pool.

Plum Maybe so you wont overlook the Indians with their. bows and arrows

Did I 22 it?

How many for a CP?
17/Jan/11 2:16 AM
 |  |

Yes, Dorthea, I wouldn't want to miss that ... if we saw Native Americans with bows and arrows today we'd probably stop and see what brands they were and, if handmade, we'd have something to talk about (another of Burl's hobbies). He has an atlatl he made that looks sci-fi Romulan. Very cool.
17/Jan/11 2:17 AM
 |  |

That would be 4 for a cp, Dorthea. Today only.
17/Jan/11 2:19 AM
 |  |

(Sorry I interrupted the cp.) You can try for 5 in a row again if you'd like.
17/Jan/11 2:19 AM
 |  |

No thanks, I'm just waiting my hour before I can have my first cup of coffee. I had a friend who made cross bows so small they would fit in a purse. If It hadn't taken so log to find the little arrows, and put them in, it would have made a dandy weapon.
17/Jan/11 2:26 AM
 |  |

Still if someone was over 6 feet away you couldn't really hurt them. His friends would catch the arrow in midair.

Idle chatter!! The medium was easy today and a cute young animal as a reward.

Six-year old Angie , and her four-year old brother, Joel , were sitting together in church. Joel giggled, sang and talked out loud. Finally, his big sister had enough. "You're not supposed to talk out loud in church."
"Why? Who's going to stop me?" Joel asked.

Happy Sunday!
I will join Karen in celebrating National Nothing Day as fully as possible.

Hullo, Emma! You look like a sweetie!

Plum: was it fairy cakes or butterfly cakes and what's the difference, please?

Good morning everyone. It is another beautiful day in our corner of the world. More pruning and raking is in my near future. It is wonderful to have some good weather, at long last, and a pleasure to spend some time outside.

Judy, Not true - I was just asking Karen what she was going to do today.
