Today's cat photo was appropriate. Took mine for re-check at vet since he's now on steroids. Doing well, but he probably won't be able to purrform in the cat Olympics.

UG the DWARF.

Some men, who’re odd by nature, bear the nick-name: “Ug”.
Each Ug conceals a tiny brain and has a foul-mouthed mug.
He’s reined in by a nagging wife and a few horrific brats,
who safely now live far apart; in Council, high-rise flats.

We have a holiday weekend here in Canada, celebrating Victoria Day (good old Queen Vic). Needless to say, it is raining, heavily, copiously, with thunderstorms and rain, rain, rain. I believe there is a global conspiracy to ensure poor weather on long weekends regardless of where in the world you live. Oh, did I mention that it's raining?

A taxi passenger tapped the driver on the shoulder to ask him a question. The driver screamed, lost control of the car, nearly hit a bus, went up on the sidewalk, and stopped centimeters from a shop window.
For a second everything went quiet in the cab, then the driver said, "Look mate, More...

Commiserations about the rain. I must say I subscribe to your theory Canuk Greg. Easter, being and especially long weekend, is famous for its rain in this part of the world. I think Keith brought us luck this year.

My son graduates from College next week, so we have a find a place for him in the old homestead. So, I'm moving things here and there, the toss bag is getting full. I just put out a roll top desk that I painted BC and it was picked up quickly -- one person's junk is a younger person's treasure.

Kate, your comment makes me feel good. For our whole trip, the weather co-operated. Even our last day in Sydney, the early winter took a break and it was beautiful. The only time it rained on us was in Adelaide, which hadn't had rain in 8 months, so everybody, including us, welcomed it. I agree, we had the best of luck the whole time we were there.

Finally home, what a fun day. Learned about Dutch oven cooking, using a cast iron cooker heated only by charcoal briquettes, they made pies, cakes, chicken noodle soup & biscuits while we were there.
One group was helping the kids make bird houses, some were fishing, could also go on a canoe More...

Sue, I got a huge dutch oven that I can put on top of my woodstove because we sometimes loose electricity in the winter and when we do I can use my gas range stovetop if I light with matches but the gas oven won't work nohow because of a closed electronic ignition. I got the dutch oven large enough for baking pizzas and cookies, etc.

Well, CG, I haven't done any sudoku puzzles today and it sounds like the Hard and Tough are worthwhile visiting, but I HAVE spent a couple hours on your puzzle. I've sent you what I got so far in case I can't get back to you or my computer loses the list.

Kathy,

Thanks for your suggestion about the fox. There may be two of them, which would make sense for this time of year. We'll know if foxlets appear soon. (kits? what's the term for a baby fox?) It/They have been out during the day, which is unusual, but other than that they don't appear to be acting out of the ordinary.
