For those on this side of the world:

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!
May your thoughts be as glad as the shamrocks,
May your heart be as light as a song,
May each day bring you bright, happy hours,
That stay with you all the year long.

May follow you throughout this day!

Dorthea - was that one of the new fluorescent bulbs which are supposed to last for several years?

Good game, Jill!

Speaking of the new "green" light bulbs. Has anyone used the fluorescent spotlight type bulbs for recessed light fixtures? I have 6 recessed lights in my kitchen ceiling, and so far I haven't tried the new bulbs because I figure I'm going to have to change all 6 of them at once because it would look obvious that one was different from the rest.

Garden is coming on great till watering time with 40 plus new roses...I water, copiously, twice a week, and there are the twenty or so shrubs. I have added some sweet williams and pinks and dianthus. We have built a small Gin and Tonic Terrace, small round table and 2 chairs facing the setting sun. This has lavender and miniature roses. It is also at the start of the rose walk.

Haven't tried 'em yet in the recessed fixtures, but do have them in the lights on my "k" ceiling fan. The kids think it is cool how they start out dim and brighten up in a minute or so.

I have come inside for a refreshing cup of tea as the garden thermometer tells us it is 28 celsius(82 farenheit) out there at the moment(14.45hrs)

Wow. Sounds lovely GMo! In the summer and in my slimmer days, hubby and I like to sip wine on the patio after the kids are in bed. Your little terrace sounds great, better scenery than swing sets, sand boxes and other miscellaneous toys!

Off to that room, making a sheppards pie for supper in honor of St. Patty's.

I've got to run out and buy some cabbage for our corned beef dinner. I hate cabbage! (Actually, I like red cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts and all the other crucifers - but for some reason, I do NOT like green cabbage. But tradition (and hubby) dictates that I cook green cabbage with my corned beef!!
18/Mar/09 12:56 AM

The only thing I don't like about cooking corned beef is that the smell from my Crockpot of the beef simmering drives me insane with hunger! I may have to spend the day outdoors.

GMo - need a hand in your garden?
18/Mar/09 12:58 AM
 |  |

Goodness gracious, step away to give my prego buddy and eyefull of yesterdays woes or adventures--however it came out--and this place takes off. And with such language in the early morning, mentioning that room room like it is a daily common use.
Though GannieMo's garden sounds like a chunk of heaven.

The girl has woken up this morning with the spirit of gab. Lot's of gabbing. Then again she was not up a good part of the night taking care of herself for a horrible cough.
