Karen from Texas don't you know it's Presidents' Day? All the banks, schools, post offices etc. are closed today here. Don't you celebrate Presidents' Day in Texas? They tried to combine Lincoln's birthday with Washington's birthday and got it all mixed up. One calendar I have has today as More...

Both son and grandson have the day off. So I guess I'll go over and take grandson to give him a break from daddy. My son is having a difficult time acclimating to civilian life. Wife and son don't salute him and jump to when he gives them an order. I drive him crazy by giving him a hug and greeting him as 'Little Boy, give mama a hug'!

Ah, Karen, didn't you know that Pluto was downsized? Yup, poor guy was demoted to dwarf planet along with, Makemake, Eris, Haumea, Sedna, there's more but I figure if they're not bigger than Charon (Pluto's moon) I won't try to remember them.

Dotcom, I was all for sleeping in late this morning, but darn school, said half day. As for celebrating President's day in Texas, some schools do, some schools don't.

Even my calendar, at a quick glass, doesn't have the president's birthdays listed. Now, they had MLK's birthday, but not the president's birthdays, think something is wrong there.

Does your calendar have Lincoln's and Washington's birthdays marked?

Oh, one of those times, when you post something, that could be taken wrong, and you only notice after you press send.

My statement is not to be taken in a bad way, I did not mean it to be bad, just observation of my calendar.

I can't believe that I finally cleared off most of my desk! Surprised to see the glass top, it's not clear glass but textured on the downside so light goes through but you can't see clearly through it. Sigh it would have been fun to see my feet below!

Karen, is MIL's Dr aware of how much ''quality'' time she is spending with her grandchildren? Sometimes the Dr being the badguy works better than family suggestions. That is one reason I came to have my girly girls. Their grandmother, who is a wonderful person and loves her grands very much, did More...

all. It's good to be home again. Weather forecasts here called for freezing temps. last night so we came home early to cover up and/or move tender plants in the yard & on the lanai. Turned out that really wasn't necessary. Oh well, better to be safe than sorry, I guess.

My calendar shows Lincoln's Birthday on Feb. 12, Presidents' Day (Observed) today (Feb. 18 here in the U.S.), & Washington's Birthday on Feb. 22.

Karen , Your promised sun is shinning brightly here...looking out of a window, its a pretty day, it's also a pretty cold day, so I'm very happy to just observe from inside where it's very comfortable.
Glad your MIL has returned More...

Seems my calendar is not the only one off, Mother Nature's calendar is confused on what month it is.
We went from dripping, to a beautiful sunny morning, to now high winds. Hope this is not a prelude to what March is going to be like. Let Shelby outside and she was blown off the porch. Even the girls came in, because, K was scared that M was going to blow away.

it's been that kind of morning! The pharmacy that I want to transfer all my dad's prescriptions won't do a loaner on prescriptions they haven't refilled yet. So now I have to drive way out to the CVS that did and will.
