From - please tell us the answer to your riddle. I give up. I've been pondering this for days and your new version doesn't enlighten me much at all. I have come up with a rainbow or a rose but neither match all the criteria.
I know I'll kick myself but I just can't get it.
Has anyone else got it? Please tell me - the suspense is killing me.

Beautiful am I in my coats of bright colors including pink, magenta and purple. Although thought of as low class, I am joined by an upper class residence. However, my beauty comes at a price, for if you cross me you may find I am a thorn in your side.
And the answer is bougainvillea?? Why? Aside from the colors and villa (sort of) I don't make the connections. Am I missing something?

Kathy, check out 'bogan' on google. Equates to 'redneck'. And they are pretty thorny,(sharp tongue), if you have to prune them.

From - thanks for explaining... I'm obviously having a 'thick day' - even knowing what a bogon was I was on the wrong page!!! I had also rejected rose and rainbow.
