everyone!

The annual turkey barley soup is simmering on the stove and the house smells heavenly. I remember as a kid my great grandmother making it, so the tradition has gone on for a long time. I actually still have my grandmother's recipe card. As you can imagine, it's a little worse for wear.

Wolf, if you have never heard Hal Holbrook's one-man presentation of Twain's words, it is worth looking for it. Twain's writing is so wonderful, and the words truly come to life when you hear them 'spoken' by Holbrook!

Judy, I saw Hal Holbrook's show. He was great, but look at the material he had to work with! It was a wonderful evening. I'm sure if you google it, it can be found.

Okay! Off to play with my soup!

Pat drove through the carwash. When he went to pay, the cashier asked him, 'Are you Irish?'
' Well ,as it happens, I am. How did you know?'
said Pat.

Good morning everyone. Had visitors this weekenend and hardly had a minute for the computer. We took them them to rocky outcrop in Bass Strait, the stretch of water that separates Tasmania from the mainland of Oz.

There is a seal colony there. We were ignored for quite some time before they started popping up out of the water to check us out. There were dozens of them playing in the shallow water clods to the rock. BUT I can't believe I forgot my camera!

What happened at the Eureka Stockade is well worth a read. (or for those who are letter challenged I am pretty sure there is a movie) The facts were ruthlessly suppressed, but there is no suppressing the peoples memories. (folk law)
