After yesterday, I felt I'd been through the wringer. Taking care of my parents' needs, I was pulled this way and that. Mom's still has her ups and downs, but I feel we did the best we could. She's in a facility where they speak Japanese and there are Japanese cultural activities and food. She is getting the medical care she needs. In fact she does look much better and is more active.

Julie, for years, my brothers and I have told my dad, spend the money on himself and not to worry about us. We're not rich but are comfortable and don't need his money. But the stubborn cus went through all this legal hassle so that he could leave a tidy sum for us kids and grandkids. Problem is it's up to me to do all the work being in charge of the trust. Argh!

Lots of strong winds here in Melbourne at the moment, power has been down for 3 hours, trees are down in streets etc.,

Hope you all stay safe, and no damage has been done to anyone's properties.

and a Riddle for a CP

A farmer has to transport a fox, a goose and a sack of grain across a river. The boat is so small that there is room only for him and one of the others at a time, but if he leaves the fox and goose together the fox will kill the goose, and if the goose and the sack of grain are left together the goose will eat the grain. How does he get them all over?

Risemary :) are you giving away our boarding passes?? They are very valuable to some of us you know LOL

Angie/Melb: Would you mind ducking around to my house to see if everything is still in one piece, Thanks Luvvie :)
02/Apr/08 3:46 PM
 |  |

jazzy wazzy :) ducking could just be the appropriate word, had to duck around all sorts of obstacles on my way to ballet shop before.

Mind you if I had to duck all the way over their, this little ducky would need a drink..hmmm what time will you be home.
02/Apr/08 3:54 PM

ooops their = there doh.
02/Apr/08 3:56 PM
 |  |

Ok Angie, how's this. The farmer on his first trip takes the duck over. Goes back and brings back the fox, however on the return trip he brings back the duck. He picks up the grain and leaves the duck behing. Now the fox and the grain are on the other side. The farmer returns to pick up the duck!
02/Apr/08 4:14 PM

behing= behind!
02/Apr/08 4:15 PM

well done, but I believe there are two more answers.
One where it only takes 2 trips
and one where it only takes 1 trip.

Hello again, how are you Melbourne people going? I'm hearing such terrible reports on the radio about the damaging winds there and storms to come. The report I heard was that the trains couldn't get through, every line was blocked and one bridge over the Yarra was closed and that by now there would be grid-lock.
Hope everyone is safe and sound.

Shosho - my Dad was like yours about money. His prime interest in retirement was to ensure that he left a tidy sum for his kids. I was his EPOA and I am Mum's - so now I'm looking after their money, invested in a Managed Trust. Of course, with the stock market problems of late, I'm watching it More...
