A Thought For The Day:

You know your children are growing up when they stop asking you where they came from and refuse to tell you where they're going.

I made to two types of cookies and some fudge yesterday. Also got the laundry done but the tree is still in it's box upstairs. I'll put it on today's to do list along with more cookies.

Canuk Greg - I'm not that hard to beat. It's Kayo who has some sort of secret weapon to always post her stuff first. I tried and I tried but no matter what sneaky tricks I used to speed up my posting, the best I ever achieved was second place.

Canuk Greg, Is this a 2 day or a 1 day puzzle then?

I'm waiting for HalT to see if I remembered to post my answers yesterday. I wish there was a sent box or something like that.

Answers to yesterday’s word puzzle:

1. Planet, plant, pant
2. Least, lest, let
3. Posse, pose, Poe
4. Prawn, pawn, pan
5. Beast, best, bet

I was totally amazed by the response: 16 of you all (eventually) got the correct answer. Way to go, people. The winners are:

I have plenty of cookies to spare. I decided to do a cookie package for my pastor. I figured it either needed to be all of one type or a variety. I went with a variety but to me that means at least 4 different types of cookies plus the fudge. So after packing up that tin I will still have tons. I'm thinking my neighbors are getting some and apparently Canuk Greg.

How much spare time does Greg think we have this time of year? Ill give it my best shot with what little spare time work is affording me tonight.

So I did submit my answers.

I confess I steal most of my puzzles but the country scrambles are my own.

grass-hopper (I think) and I were talking about a lurker sign-in day. It seems like the season is bringing a lot of them out anyways. I am going to declare Christmas Eve (December 24th) on the site as the official lurker sign in. And no I have no power to do this but why should I let that stop me. Let all your lurker friends know they should stop by and say hi.

The lurker thing ... great idea, Serena. It'll be fun to see who comes out of the woodwork.

Are you a lurker if you just don't have much to say?

That seems a valid reason for being one. Nothing wrong with it.

Hey Keith, did you ever try and update your video?

everyone!

I'd like to take a moment to thank Serena, Hal, and Greg for the daily puzzles. I have to admit I have occasionally been late to various functions because I frequently think, ''It will only take me a few minutes to finish this then I can leave''. Not always true!
22/Dec/13 2:32 AM

I haven't changed my video in an embarrassingly long time. Perhaps if I didn't spend so much time on the poozles.....

Your directions worked perfectly, beehive.

My work on the extra puzzles is hit and miss, but I enjoy them when I do take the time.
