Hooray! I left the page turn for you for luck, Chris! Start a page, start a marathon ...

I wonder if we will be able to fill this page with warm thoughts for you while you're running?

Chris's race will be done by now. Temperature has rocketed from -2 to 5*C. Beautiful sun out there, just cold - very typical Canberra winter day.

Hi back to you CP. Now if you could send about +4C over here, we might feel a little bit more seasonal. Please.

Thanks for thinking of me everyone, it obviously helped - I came in third with a time of 1:38:59, a pretty good time seeing the course measured nearly half a kilometre long. I was expecting to be closer to the 1 hour 45 minute mark but just felt good from the start (despite the temp sitting about freezing point when the gun went off.)

Another birthday, Sacky!? Didn't you just have one of those a few months ago?
Well, have a happy one.

Happy birthday Sacky. I hope the weather is not too bad to permit some celebration. How do your cattle cope with this weather. Being Angus they probably have the right genes to deal with this cold wet windy weather.

Scotland is the only place I have been where the wind has blown my glasses off.

Well Peter, I would have been looking forward to the clash next Friday except for last night,s loss to the Saints, and the disastrous injuries. Serious injuries to three key players to add to the previous loss of Murphy, Adams and Campell to injury and Crameri to suspension.

The Dogs could have been top of the ladder, at least temporally, as the Cats beat Adelaide, and stayed there for longer if the Tigers beat the Hawks. Now they're down to sixth and it will be seventh, if the Hawks win.

It was a pity that the Brumbies lost, and even more so if it was due to a bad umpiring decision.
