I pat myself on the back because I survived a sleepover with 52 third grade students! We did better, I can tell. I only woke up at 11PM, 1:03, 4:30 and 5:50 AM to tell them to go to sleep, to take them to the restroom! Took an evil delight rousting them out of bed at 6:00 AM!

Only had 2 students whose parents didn't pick them up on time, both were my students and one was 45 minutes late!

SORRY OUIMA! That's what happens when you two finger type with your glasses off!

Okay, so far four bright young ladies have come up with the answer to today's riddle. What's the matter with the rest of you folks out there? It's not that hard, so think about it, chew on it for awhile, think outside the box, make a wild a-s guess and post your answer!

I spent the day today at another birthday party, that of Seabiscuit, the famous racehorse. The ranch where he lived out his retirement is just outisde the town where I live. Pictures on my page and in Flickr.

I'm back it only took about 13 hours. My video today, is about the Honor Guard at Arlington. When a hurricane was approaching, they stayed at their post, even when told they did not have to walk the 21 steps. It is quite interesting, some of the things I knew, had heard of before.

marylinn- I cannot imagine never having ridden a horse. I started riding Thoroughbreds at 2 1/2 years old, and have spent most of my life around and on them.

I'm being quiet and well behaved after a couple of hours in casualty. I managed to miss the bottom stair and dived into the door post with my head and landed on the unforgiving slate floor with my good knee. All OK other than a few More...

OUCH...... poor dino. It sounds awful.

Ooooh, Dino, that is not something you're suppose to do! OUCH! Do be careful! Sometimes bodies get back by giving even more pain than necessary!

Well my eye is starting to look spectacular, so I should get lots of sympathy. Though some people might think that this Buddhist nun has been in a fight.

And now I've just heard about my son's friend whose wife gave birth to twins a few days ago. Her heart stopped beating twice. She is OK now, but very tired. The twins are fine. Her husband, whom I've known since he was about 14 is recovering from the extreme ups and downs.
There are so many unseen dramas around us all the time. My blackening eye is not much when put into that context.

Marylinn, Its amazing what can go through you're mind in less than a second. My first reaction was "No! I do not want to break my hip or knee, but I can't stop falling" It was about 10 mins later when I realized I could stand and walk did I look in the mirror and discover the cut above my eye.

A likely story dino - ducking when you shouda been weaving, I'd say.....

I fell recently and like you it was quite a while before I could move. There was nothing physically wrong but my get up and go had definitely left me for a few minues. I just sat there.
Hope your eye is not too colourful, and people never seem to believe the door post did it.
