Sue, have been wondering how the packing and moving have been going?
Don't think Summertime is really smart time to pack and move.

everybody. It looks like Tropical Storm Debby is headed more toward Louisiana & Texas now, but the bands of rain from her are drenching us here in FL & probably will continue through tomorrow. Wish we could share some of this with other areas who need it so badly, particularly Colorado where all those fires are still burning.

The answer to yesterday's Picture Puzzle #3 was 'darning egg'. Correct answers were given by Kathy (MD), Jerry, HalT, Kathy (FL), Shiela, Captain J, Pam and Wolf. Wolf said he was trying to find one to buy. I found the picture on eBay, so there are some out there for sale! Karen tried twice, More...

Oh, HalT, who doesn't have a bad school picture? It is like DL's pictures.
Keep trying.

Vibrant Vici, I don't think I have ever met an ugly dog, either.

A sock mending device! What the heck is that used for?
Not only was my spelling way off yesterday, so was my thinking.
Does not take long to get coffee, where is today's puzzle. Not that I should rush the speedy person.

Ok, ok, Karen! I have posted today's Picture Puzzle (#4). This is a pretty easy one, but don't get too complacent because tomorrow's puzzle is going to be really tough!

I've got one of those devices, Karen. It belonged to my mother. I remember her darning our socks when we would get holes in them. Having four sons in the '40s required a lot of mending of clothes.

Jane, your picture puzzle reminds me of an old song.

Well, as you can guess the only time I have ever darned a sock is when I cannot find its pair.

OK, Kathy, you want to tax my brain and you are doing a fantastic job.

Karen, I think you were at a disadvantage in guessing yesterday's object because of your age. I'm not sure about Pam & Wolf, but I'm pretty sure the rest on the list of correct solvers are all over 60! I myself have never darned a sock, but I think my mother & grandmother did. It's probably hard More...

My mother had one, and we had to mend our own socks when we were kids! Well, I should say, my sister and I had to mend our own socks. We also had to mend our brother's.

I watched them do that on Little House on the Pairie and the Waltons, but don't think I have ever seen it done in person.

Oh, and I do not throw away religious socks right away, I live with dust bunnies and of course, can never find a clean dust rag.
Though, I have found those nifty little duster thingy, that just does not rearrange the dust bunnies.

This is not getting my Sunday pancakes prepared in a timely manner.
