I just KNOW that someday one of us on this site is going to win a BIG lottery and put together a major party at which all of us can gather and have SO much fun together.
That might be a gathering for the ages (yes, I meant ages, not "aged"!!).

Actually, Kathy, we start finals tomorrow, and they are working on the review and asking me questions as needed (not very often).
I can hardly wait until Saturday.
Then I can look forward to a quick trip in June to Nebraska for a wedding.

I promise I shall do my very best for a big lottery win, and if that happens we shall all enjoy a massive luxury party - that is if I survive the shock of winning !

There would need to be a central location for the party. How about Hawaii???

Well, I got back to find out that "Love is not having to say 'Get up and find your own worms for breakfast.'"

I also found out I've been missing people's birthdays. So sorry folks. Have to go wrap up this phase of the census. If anyone has a phone message on their machine from a census enumerator, please stop whatever you're doing right now and call that person back. It might be me.

I agree with Heidi - Hawaii would be pretty central. Talk about beach parties!!! Cookouts with stick-wielding cooks.

Good afternoon to all! Hi Gem Why do all these cats try to disguise themselves as dogs when posing for a picture for this site?

We have up over weather here, similar to down under weather, and not quite as bad as Appy in Chennai. 30 C yesterday, 33 C (92 F) today and 33 C forecast again for tomorrow. This is May?? This is Ottawa??

A better central location for a party would be someplace in Europe, so our European folks could attend and the rest of us meet up half-way around the world. Hawaii is a long way to go for André, Fiona, Rayray, et al.

I'd rather have a beach party in Hawaii.

Europe is a long way for us Aussies - unless we are talking about a chartered first class jet.
Choccies and Bolly for 18+ hours sounds ok to me.

Shiela, I hope your hand hasn't stopped you enjoying your day.

Dave, I hope the weather improves for your birthday. Enjoy your day.

One of the brainiacs here should be able to construct an algorithm that, with locations of all who might attend an international party inputed, would determine the most equitable destination for all involved! As long as the result is not Siberia or Antarctica, I'd go along with it!

Ian/Huahinian, thank you so much for letting us share the beautiful floral celebration of Orn's, life. My thoughts are still with you and your family.

Hello everyone, your a lovely dog Gem.
Vicki that sounds ok to me too but they would have to carry me off the plane when we got there. LOL I'm bringing my Mum out here for lunch today so had better get the place looking spick and span.

Good idea. Then we would have a chance of meeting other suokuists in person without the tiring long-haul.

Good morning - Hawaii sounds great, but I have a definite bias there.

But I'm really interested in Judy's suggestion of someone working out what would really be the central spot to meet for all of us.

Tonight is the first of the State of Origin games.
Queensland has won the last 4 series and we don't intend to lose this one either. I'll start the chant early .....

Where did that x come from. It was supposed to be exclamation marks. If I didn't know better I'd think the site was run by a New South Welshman. Or has the Hallmonitor been unmasked?

to Dave. Enjoy your 2 day Sudoku birthday and your golf.

I agree - a good central location for us all and a lottery win for someone!!

Jamie -- I have a list of things I'm going to do when I hit the lottery big -- I'll just add that party to the plan

well, I'm planted right in front of the old TV -- IL is going to be on the map tonight -- Evan on Dancing with the Stars - is actually from Naperville - but he's South side and I'm North side - and Lee on American Idol is from IL - and I guess someone on Greatest Loser is from my state also -- and More...

For those who don't know Fourex (XXXX) is a brand of beer originating in Queensland. Since Victoria (person not State) has lost an X, go NSW. On the law of averages, they have to win soon.

On the central location for a party, I tend to agree with CG. Europe is basically central to both the US & Aussies. There have already been parties in both the US & Down Under, should it be somewhere new? How about a spot in England..?

Jim, I think France would be a good place. We can all land on Fiona's or Mo's place.

Have to "Amen!" what Plum says. If you have a notice from a census enumerator, please give them a call. I am also working on the census and with 2 major hurricanes through our area, Plum, it is hard to find some houses much less the noses to count here.
Just a few more to finish up here, I think.

France sounds good, Anne, I'll second that!
Saylz - good luck with your support of NSW tonight - I think they'll need it.
(Oh, I hope I don't have to eat my words tomorrow morning.....)
