Good morning, All! Kathy, your rooster pic brought a smile to my weary face. It even made me feel a little more awake! I've been cleaning and baby-chasing for 3 hours now... am ready for a nap.

When did a can of tuna go from containing 8 ounces to only 5?

Mary, my dad had a VW Bug when we kids were learning to drive. Three kids, three transmission replacements. But we all can drive a stick shift or was it shift stick? I always get confused as to which comes first. My hubby used to laugh at me about it so I used to know. Now he just understands what I mean. There goes my English!

Bite your tongue GannieMo. I'm right there with you and I refuse to bow to age! I agree with Dylan Thomas:
Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Good Morning friends!
Just got done skyping with our friends at Fionafest. They were just heading off to their lunch. Sounds like everyone is having the BEST time! Good to see familiar faces and meet new friends. Jane says next year's sudokumeet with be a cruise!

Glad you are on the mend Betty. Take it easy so you don't have a relapse.
Anne, I notice a number of products getting smaller containers/measures. Guess that is one way not to raise the price. Notable to me was sugar a number of years ago shrinking from 5 lb. bags to 4 lb. bags. Now all the ice More...

Happens here in Oz too Anne - small milk containers just shrank by 50ml, but they charge the same price.

Yes, it's called product or package downsizing -- which is why it's almost impossible to find packaged goods in standard increments anymore. But I hadn't bought canned tuna in a very long while, and it wasn't until I opened the can that I realized how little was in it. Then I looked at the can itself, and saw that it wasn't much thicker than a nickel.

You know where I've noticed "product downsizing"?
When an older recipe calls for maybe a 10 ounce can of something, and now the product comes in a 8-3/4 ounce can.

Time for me to go home and hit the sack. I agree Julie, much quieter without the revellers (Iwas going to say festerers, but it didn't seem totally right!)

LITTLE GIRL ON A PLANE

A stranger was seated next to a little girl on the airplane when the stranger turned to her and said, 'Let's talk. I've heard that flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger.'
The little girl, who had just opened her book, More...

Kathy, I've had the opposite problem. I usually end up next to someone plugged into their iPod or iPhone. Which is fine if you have a couple of books. Flights across the country are about 2 books long.
