Thanks Joyce. Some of these old traditional rhymes come back in part, and it can be quite frustrating. I should google them.

Here we are at 44, which is a new tradition I'm trying to start.
I'll see if I can help us to reach it for 44 days. That's about a month and a half.

I don't know for sure if I'm right or not, but I don't think there are any lightning bugs west of the Rocky Mountains. There sure aren't any in California.

Plum, we have lightning bugs in western New York & this year we've had them since the beginning of June; normally I associate them with appearing in August - hmmmm, environmental changes all around!

Back to traditional songs. I can only remember a bit of this oneabout a man and a pig in the gutter and a lady walks past and says ''You can tell a man who boozes, from the company that he chooses' and the pig got up and slowly walked away'. Sounds like a number one hit on the Temperance Hit More...

Good one DoA. I came across a good one the other day. A sailor fresh from a long journey walks into an escort agency. He slaps $500 on the madam's desk and says I want to spend some time with your ugliest escort, and I want a stale ham sandwich. Hold on, says the madam, you could have a slap up More...

Good one Peter. The one about the pig is only one of hundreds on that traditionalmusic.co.uk/folk-song-lyrics site. They don't sing the songs but do give the words.
This is post number 55 for today, let's help Peter to ^^.

On the spelling side it was ie or ei that caused the most trouble, though the youngest had trouble with b and d. We had a couple of trick to help with them b is a bat and ball, d is a drum and a drumstick, and also bed as an aid helps.

The first time there were a couple having a picnic lunch under the trees. We wanted to take a photo of the trees so we politely asked if they would be staying much longer, and explained the significance of the trees. As we walked away one said to the other 'bloody New Australians'. My Aussie More...
